4 Steps in Information Sharing

By:Moe Tamani

Information sharing is one of the most important aspects of driving web business. If you have a website and if you are not able to share relevant information regarding your service or product with your readers or internet users then it will greatly impact the web traffic to your website. There are quite a few advantages of effective information sharing and they are:

1. It will help in building instant credibility
2. There will be a higher number of inbound links
3. Your website will achieve a better SE ranking
4. There will be an increase in the number of visitors to your website
5. At the end of the day, all this will generate sales or increase revenue

Well! These are some of the benefits that you will derive through information sharing but it is not as easy as it seems. There is a step-by-step process that goes behind it and if you follow them to the suit then you will be able to not only capture your target audience but also get ahead in the internet rate race.

Let us take a look at the various steps:

Step I: Add relevant and useful information
Content creation is a process and the only way to get meaningful content is by adding relevant information; information that is useful for the reader. This is where you should also apply niche writing. If your website is selling a product like camping tents, then provide as much information as possible regarding the product and how it can be useful to the buyer. Write about how to camp, what are the altitudes where you can use a particular camping material, what are the various benefits, etc.

If you feel that you are unable to provide the type of content required then you can hire content writers who can do the job for you. It is an affordable option and these days most writers are aware of the requirements of various search engines and they will be able to churn out some really informative content for you.

Step II: Make your content Viral
If you want your content to spread across the internet rapidly then the best option is to make it viral. All you have to do is add a small footer in every article stating that readers can re-publish this article/the content. Here is an example:

{Start Footer} Article by John Scali of johnscali.com - A definitive guidebook to landscape photography. You are permitted to use the article on your web site but please make sure to include this footer. {End Footer}

It is important to include a link to your website in the footer where the anchor text will be a keyword phrase like landscape photography, which is the hyperlink. Due to the growth of links across the web, your website ranking will also increase for the particular keyword phrase i.e., landscape photography.

Step III: Internal Publishing of Content
There are many ways of publishing content and the web is one of the most powerful publishing sources. But before you publish your content on the web, you need to publish it internally. One of options is to introduce the content to your subscribers. If you are publish it on the web then maintain a single page listing of all the articles. The list will ensure that the search engine spiders are able to find all the valuable information with ease.

Step IV: External Publishing of Content
When we say external publishing, it means publishing the content in other websites, e-zines etc. There are many free and membership oriented websites and directories where you can submit your articles. There are also some online magazines that may be targeting audience who might be interested in your product or services. Contact such editors and have your articles published on their website. This will help you to share information with a wide base of audience.

While publishing content externally, include footer where you can mention your website URL. This will help in driving traffic to your website.
