7 Rules for Making Your Work From Home Job Search Work!

It seems these days everyone is seeking freedom, flexibility, time with family, and less stress. Working from home is a great way to have this lifestyle.
We live in a great age in that we can take advantage of the growth of technology and it’s ease of use. The fact that access to the Internet and the relatively inexpensive cost of computers that we have at our fingertips, greatly assist us in finding and doing work from home jobs.
Here are 7 very important things to look for when seeking a legitimate home based job:
1. You should never have to pay
When searching classified ads or the Internet for home based work, if it is actually a legitimate, home based job, you will not have to pay the company any money. Just like a traditional job that you would go to an office outside your home to do, you don’t pay someone to work for them. Now, this is not to be confused with a work at home job information directories that charge fees for you to see their listings of work at home jobs and businesses. You are not working for these companies, they are providing you a valuable service (if the info is any good) for which they expect payment.
2. You should be able to see an address
Any reputable company will have very visible, easily verifiable contact information with a physical address. I would question and be suspicious otherwise. Be wary of P.O. boxes, although they are not necessarily a red flag.
3. You should be able to look the company's reputation up
This is self explanatory. If a company says it has been around a long time, see if they are listed with the BBB; or if it’s an Internet company, the BBBonline.org; or at the very least look them up on the Internet using key words in your favorite search engine. Some suggested terms to search: the “company name”, “company name testimonials”, or “company name message boards.”
4. What’s the training like?
Find out if you have access to training materials, customer service assistance, an email help desk, live chat, etc. Remember, a work from home job will be different from a job where you are in a brick and mortar building with access to a supervisor, co-workers, etc. When you work from home, especially when there are time restrictions on when you have to turn projects in , you will want to know that you have quick access to help.
5. Be clear if a business or a job
Work at home businesses usually require you get your own leads , attend meetings, parties, and make a small investment. Income is not as predictable with a work from home job. Not that there is anything wrong with doing a business opportunity from home, but just be aware that they are not the same when you are doing your search.
6. How will you be paid?
Find out how you will be paid. Some work at home jobs are commission based. Some pay by the hour. Some offer overtime. Some pay by the project You will need to know how the job pays so that you can plan your monthly income accordingly.
7. Know how much time is required
This is obvious. You need to know this to do an effective job and to schedule your time correctly. Another thing to consider is whether the time required is worth the money being offered for the job.

8. Will phone use be required?
This is important if you have children in the home when you are working. Arrangements and precise scheduling will need to happen in order to have a professional atmosphere when working from home. Also, some people don’t enjoy doing jobs that require communicating with clients and customers on the phone for a large portion of their job duties.
[In addition to the phone, also keep in mind that special equipment may be required (i.e. a head set, DSL, long distance service etc.). Find out if you will be expected to pay for this.]
If you print these rules out and use them as a guideline to finding your ideal work from home job, you’re sure to be successful!!
