Speed dating is going from strength to strength as it becomes a popular way of finding a partner, making friends and having fun. The number of successful relationships, whirl wind romances and fairytale weddings are adding credance to the theory of 'love at first sight' and speed dating is proving to be the answer to many peoples dreams.

If you have not come across speed dating before, in short, it is a formulized way of dating, with the general idea being that a group of people are bought together, half are seated in individual areas (either the men or the women) and then potential partners are rotated, from room to room, with less than ten minutes to meet each new person.

Those who support speed dating say it is an interesting and quick way of finding the perfect partner with their first impressions usually being correct.

Those who hate having to sit through endless boring evenings with people with who you have nothing in common find speed dating to be an excellent way of meeting new people, gaining confidence and learning how to attract and seduce potential partners from the moment they step into the room.

At the end of each event the speed daters provide the organizers with a list of participants who they would like to be provided with their details. Contact details cannot be exchanged during the initial meeting between the speed daters which avoids undue pressure on individuals and totally eliminates the possible embarrassment of having to tell someone they aren’t for you.

Studies have concluded that first impressions are usually correct and that the speed dating concept, which offers just a few minutes for participants to make a decision, is well grounded. Others condemn speed dating, considering it to be more in keeping with the animal world.

Whatever the scientific opinions, it has to be said that speed dating is gaining popularity and taking many major cities by storm. It certainly has many advantages over other dating methods especially for those who lack confidence, have limited time, hate long dull evenings, like to meet lots of new people or just want to find that perfect match as quickly as possible.

If you are looking for a partner just give speed dating a go, as with on line dating, at worst you’ll have an entertaining evening and at best you could find the answer to your dreams.
