7 Rules Every Salesman Should Follow
By:Shelly Green
by Sam Geno
1. Treat Each Customer as Family
Selling is about building relationships and trust. Never sell something you yourself would not use. Once your reputation is tarnished it is very tough to turn it around. So as a basic rule of thumb: treat each customer with the respect they deserve.
2. Persist until you get what you want.
Don't quit just because you got rejected once. Keep on going. If you stop at the first "no" you will never be a successful salesman. No matter how many times you get rejected, remember keep on going.
3. Sell each day as if it were your last.
Never wait until tomorrow. Sell today! Sell as if today were your last. Use things you enjoy to motivate you. For example, reward yourself with a treat for every 10 sales you make. Just make sure the reward is great.
4. Control your emotions
You will always have customers who are rude. Keep your cool. Always keep your emotions in check. Two people throwing a tantrum will not help the situation. So let the customer vent and then try to deal with the situation as best as possible.
5. Laugh at your Obstacles
Obstacles will pop-up from everywhere. Deal with them. Obstacles are just apart of life. Do not let them conquer you. Remember if it was easy to be a great salesman everyone would do it.
6. Shoot for the stars. Aim to multiply your income by 10.
Whenever setting a goal shoot for the stars. Take whatever amount of income you are currently earning and multiply it by 10. This puts you in a different mindset. You will begin to work harder to reach your goal.
7. Take action now
Don't wait, go sell. You should always be selling or thinking of ways to sell. Waiting till tomorrow will ruin you. So start selling and keep selling. When you begin to become a successful salesman, keep on selling more. Remember this: Success is like a sword, you can do anything with it except sit on it.

Why do we use experts? To predict the future. Consider a patient who is asking a physician about the future effects of a certain drug, or the investor who is asking a stock analyst about the future prices of a certain stock, or the manager who is asking a human resource manager about the future performance of a certain candidate, or the brand manager who is asking a market researcher about the future sales of a certain new product.

The key factor in the success or failure in a business that specializes in closeouts, liquidations, or selling products on eBay is finding items at good prices that you can make a profit on when you resell them. Contrary to popular belief it is when you buy the item that you make your profit as what you pay for something is what determines how much your end profit will eventually be.
