Million Dollar Mouth-Say My Name…Now Say It Again
By:Keith
Artist: Million Dollar Mouth
Title: Say My Name…Now Say It Again
Genre: Alternative Rock-Punk
Label: Atonal Records
Website: http://www.milliondollarmouth.com
I have heard of million dollar legs, but a mouth worth that? Ummm…this must be the name of some upstart rock band then, huh? It sure enough is. Say My Name…Now Say It Again is their new album and it rocks from the outset until the last song is through.
This is grungy alternative, dare I say - garage rock, at its finest; no, perhaps finest is too nice of a word to use - let’s just say it is music to bang your head to, get all psyched up about, to crank up those speakers and roll down the windows to. Yeah, this is killer punky-sounding, teeth-gritting rock and I loved it.
I like their approach to each song and their back-to-basics sound. The guitars are crunching courtesy of Dusst and with 80 on bass and Kris Keane on the skins, the rhythm section pounds your senses into submission. The lead singer Mike Biscotti will remind you of many bands that have come before them. He sounds very much like punk rocker Iggy Pop. I hear a distinct 70’s influence in their sound, yet they do sound very today, the perfect combination of old and new.
This CD is nothing out of the ordinary but it is very good. Its loud and brash, a breath of fresh air and exuberance to get that blood pumping again. Lord knows we all need that injection of energy occasionally. This CD will be the kick in the ass you have been looking for so give it a spin.
