The Ultimate Way To Drive Targeted Traffic To Your Web Site Using Forums
By:Linden Huckle
Copyright 2006 Linden Huckle
Whatever your niche, there will probably be hundreds, if not thousands of forums about your niche subject.
On these forums there will be experts and total beginners in the given subject.
There are lots of reasons to use forums, not just to generate traffic, knowledge is a powerful thing, you can learn so much while posting, you'll pick up some great tips and advice from some very clever people on these forums.
You can drive traffic to your web site by submitting to the forums your own interesting topic or an interesting reply to someone else’s topic, if people find the content interesting they will go to your signature box (which must also interest them), at the bottom of the post and click on your web site link.
To get a constant flow of traffic you must post regularly.
Use the search engines to search for your niche forums, 7 to 10 good forums is enough because remember, you need to post regularly.
To know if it’s a good forum, check to see if people post regularly, if no one has posted for a week, walk away, there’s plenty more.
Alexa.com is another way to check to see if the forum is good, copy the forum address, go to alexa.com click on ‘Traffic Rankings’, then paste the forum’s address. The lower the number, the better, try and go for forums with a number under 60,000.
There are forums appearing every day, so don’t always go by Alexa, new forums can be great, you can establish yourself as good poster before the forum builds, but try at first to stay with established forums.
DO NOT SPAM! If you post pointless topics, simply trying to promote your business not only will you get banned from the forums, but people will never click through to your web site.
For people to view you as an expert you need to post your own quality topics and quality replies to other peoples topics regularly.
All forums have HOT posts, posts that generate so much interest they seem to stay around for ever, reply to these posts, sometimes they are seen by thousands of people every day.
But even better than this, is the method below.
The ultimate way to drive traffic using forums is to create your own HOT post! It isn’t easy and you can easily over do it and waste the entire post. Something interesting but maybe a little controversial or something that people feel strongly about.
After the content of the post the only other important part to get right is the signature box.
Your signature box must be hot, it’s also free advertising.
Do not try to sell your product or services through your signature box.
Do use the word FREE in your signature box, but only use it once.
FREE news letter, FREE ebook, FREE trial, FREE information, Etc, etc, etc
Keep your signature box short and sweet.
Always remember to include you url and every month or so change the style of your signature box, keep it fresh and interesting.
Now go find your quality niche forums and get posting.
