Vacuum Cleaners The Next Generation
By:Ted Belfour
Okay, so nobody likes vacuuming cleaning. Well, maybe there are a few people somewhere who enjoy it, but these might not be the sorts of people you want to spend your vacation time with. Anyone who vacuums for fun is just a little bit odd.
But we all love the feeling that comes from having a beautifully kept home, with spill-free floors as far as the eye can see. If only there was some way to achieve the look without investing any of the effort! Maybe technology has let us down in a multitude of ways, with video recorders only our children can use and alarm clocks that go off at three in the morning, but now technology has made up for lost time, and provided us with the one thing we’ve always dreamed of. A self-powered vacuum cleaner.
It might sound like something from the not too distant future, but self-powered vacuuming units are available now. Employing obstacle-detecting sensors that use an electronic grid system or simply keep on trucking until something gets in their way, these invaluable little gadgets are capable of vacuuming without any help whatsoever from you.
Though unfortunately the technology has not been perfected yet. You might not be able to entrust your entire house worth of vacuuming over to the little guy just yet, but these helpful gadgets are the ideal accompaniment to any vacuuming schedule. If you like to maintain a crumb-free household, but don’t like to vacuum every day, then a self-powered vacuum cleaning unit might be the ideal compliment to your housekeeping schedule.
If you do decide to ask for a little robotic vacuuming help, then be sure to look for certain qualities in the unit you choose. A recharger that can be constantly docked is a useful accessory, as it ensures your unit is ready to go any time you need some housework help. Some models include sensors that will alert them to any oncoming stairwells, preventing any trips or falls downstairs. More advanced units include special sensors that allow them to navigate between rooms, and overcome small obstacles, including thresholds.
So finally science has earned its keep and given us something really useful! The self-powered vacuum cleaner is a hopeful glimpse of a bright future – when we might not have to do any housework at all!
