I Need A Vacation!
By:Sandra Stammberger
‘I need a break’, often such calls come from inside, when one is tired or bored of regular routines of normal life. Vacations are the needs to refill the mind and body with fresh energy. There can be routine vacation or a self inspired one, both gives you time for your personal needs .In vacation one is not bonded to do anything according to others, only personal wishes matters, one can enjoy his time as he likes most.
Vacations are the time to fulfill individual needs of refreshment. Any work, which gives refreshment, can be a choice during the vacation. Sometimes, people just want to relax, instead of doing something. However, often people like to spend their time in touring, sporting, doing some adventure or satisfying their hobbies. Learning something new or doing some extra part-time work may be an option for some people.
There are different meanings of vacation for various age groups. Youth often believes in touring and sporting as they have immense energy inside. Adventures attract them, rafting, exploring the world, meeting new people, learning new things are centralize interests for them. Professionals believes in relaxing, health caring, making strategies of work, self-analyzing, improving knowledge and giving time to family. Older age groups often like to spent time in piece and to give some attention on their lives.
Vacations are centralized concepts for some of the jobs, businesses and places. Hill stations and tourist places are concentrated on, people on vacations. Adventures are also based on youth’s free time. People do different things in vacations but after all they makes their body and mind refreshed to start from a new origin. Men cannot work like machines. Basically, men works for earnings and because they a play an important role in civilization. So working gives them satisfaction but when it comes to their needs they always have intentions to do many things whether it is exploring or in the form of their hobbies. Meeting new places and doing new things gives the feeling of adventure. Hobbies give the inner enjoyment. Resultantly all those things satisfies men’s mental needs. Vacations provide the opportunity to fulfill needs.
There are summer vacations for students; professional vacations for professionals; holidays on various spatial days and personal vacation for individual needs. All of those for the sake of a break, what human body and human mind both demands after a term of work.
Vacations are to be refilled with a new energy, but in current age of materialism and professionalism, there are workaholic people which stick with work even in vacations. There may be work holism or greed of money for such person, which enforces them to work all-time. Such people can be very successful socially but if they don’t have time for themselves, it can cause many physical and mental problem; if not for particular time, than may be late in the age.
The concept of ‘work is worship’ is o.k. However, it is to show the importance of dedication, instead of telling human to be a robot. Whenever it seems to be a need of body or mind, to get a break and have a vacation, it is not just o.k. but is necessary to listen to them.
Vacations are given or taken to regenerate the energy and that’s what should be done. There are so many things in the world to know and to do, when one walks with the beauty of life and the world, it gives him immense energy and motivation to work,
