Sale Motivation Strategy - 4 Steps To Shoot Your Sales Through The Roof!

By:Abhishek Agarwal

The normal perception among the people in general is that anyone can be a sales professional. All that one requires is comprehensive knowledge about the product and the confidence in ones abilities to use the products benefits to ones own advantage.

The latest jargon doing the rounds in the sales industry is known as sales motivation. Sales motivation basically implies all the planning and methodology that goes into achieving ones sales targets regularly and in an efficient manner. It can either be directly proportional to the total number of client acquisition or the total amount of sales in a certain period of time.

A man without goals and targets is like an individual shooting arrows in the air without any fixed aim or purpose. Your goals define the direction in which you'll move and they are critical in keeping your motivation levels high. Once set, the goals encourage the person to summon up all the hard work and perseverance that the individual is capable of.

Sale Motivation strategy is not isolated from the nitty-gritty of the actual sales procedure. It actually complements the sales procedure and makes it more effective by adopting a systematic approach.

Following are some points that must be kept in mind while devising a sales strategy:

1. Location Check

This mainly pertains to the place where you are planning to sell effectively. You can determine your area of operation by looking up the local maps and catalogs. If you make this decision perfectly, you might end up being an early starter in a market that has tremendous sales potential.

Go by the general rule of demand and supply in determination of your sales location. If your line of products already have an established market in a certain location and have many competitors, it may be quite difficult to switch the prospective clients over to your products.

2. Direct mails method

Contrary to the popular belief, direct mailing is still a very effective and frequently used means of sales and marketing. Ever since the advent of internet age and email culture, people have started missing the snail mails in their letterboxes and look forward to anything that comes via traditional mail. Hence, this is the right time to get your brochures and pamphlets printed and start mailing them to your prospective clients without delay.

3. Email Campaigns

Since almost all the businesses have online presence nowadays and more and more people are turning internet savvy, email campaigns are a very effective method for your B2B (Business to Business) and B2C (Business to customers) activities. However, care must be taken that you don't start sending random emails to all and sundry. All such emails can be branded as spam and have serious implications. It is better to brief your potential customers about your offerings and make them subscribe to your regular email newsletters.

4. Personal telephone calls

If you are dealing with your regular clients, you can promote your new products by making direct phone calls too. However, care must be taken that this is not done in a random manner. Call up only those individuals who have left a note with you to contact them in case of new offerings. You can call others too, but not during the normal working hours. Nobody likes to be disturbed while working and there's a good possibility that they might just hang up.

Once you are clear with all the above-mentioned points you are ready to travel the adventurous road of sale motivation.

Set goals for yourself and start with the ones that can be accomplished and reviewed on a daily basis. The world will not change in one single day, so you must act with immense patience and go about the whole task in a strategic manner.
