How Much Is It Cost You To Start An Online Business

By:Fidens Felix

My definition of online business is a business that is conducted mostly on the internet. Starting from marketing, sales, payment processing and support, everything is done on the internet. That makes no other business in the world that can be started as low cost as online business.

For most people, it is easy to start a business as online business instead of offline business. Mostly because the startup fee is very low. But noy only that, it is easier to reach people online, which means you can try to sell to many people faster.

In order for you to start an online business, there are some basic tools that you to need to have. They are as follows.

1. Domain Name

Domain name is just like a street address in offline business. People would type your domain name in their browser and the browser then will show your website.

For your domain name, you will need something that is short and easy to remember by people. Also, you want something that resonate your business. Thus, if you have a business related to "bird", then you want to have
that "bird" word in your domain name. This will help your prospects to remember your domain name.

Let me stress this again, you need to have a domain name. You do not want to use free website because doing this only make you not be taken as a bona-fide. Soon or later your prospects will know that you are using a free website just by looking at your website address.

Domain name only cost you between $8 to $10/year. Small fee that will be much profit for you.

2. Web host

Web host is necessary to have because this is where you put your websites or any other 'stuff' online. You can find a lot of web host providers available on the internet. There are a lot of them that you might get confused what to choose.

Basically, there are two kinds of service you can have. Web host where you share servers (server is a machine where you can put your 'stuff' and that is connected to the internet 24/7) with other people, or you can have a server dedicated for you only.

The latter is more expensive and could cost you hundreds of dollars per month. On the other side, sharing server would only cost you $7-$10/month. If you are just starting, I suggest you use a shared server. After you grow your business, then move your website to a dedicated one.

3. Autoresponder

If you want to grow your online business, you will need to build your list of customers. With this list, you can send your offers in the future. An autoresponder could help you manage this list.

You can have an autoresponder installed in your own server for one-time fee or you could use a third party autoresponder service which can cost you $10 to $15/month.

I recommend you to use a third party service and avoid having your own autoresponder in your server. It will save you much resource if you outsource this service to other company.

At the time I write this article, I use GetResponse as my autoresponder service provider. The service can handle foreign languages including Japanese, Chinese etc.

These 3 components: domain name, web host, autoresponder, I mentioned above is enough to get you to started on your online venture. Roughly counted, it will only cost you $30/month. That is $1/day to start your own business!

Like I said, no other business in the face of the world that can be started as low cost as online business. Get yours started, today!
