Andy Warhol - A Very Popular Commercial Illustrator

Who is Andy Warhol? That name may be very familiar to you. Many of us know who he is but even those that don’t know exactly what he did, they do know the name. Andy Warhol was a very popular commercial illustrator. He was an artist that has become a household name for many.
Born in 1928 and died in 1987, Warhol was a US artist as well as a motion picture producer. He had great unique pop art designs that were made of soup cans, Brillo boxes, and silk-screen reproductions. He has a famous painting, One Hundred Cans from 1962 and a very famous motion picture, The Chelsea Girls.
Andy Warhol was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to New York City in the 1950s. He studied at Carnegie Institute of Technology. There are many books dedicated to this amazing artist that spoke to people in a new way.
The Andy Warhol Museum was opened in Pittsburgh in 1994 and honors the influential man that was born there. You can find many photos of Any Warhol work online. You can also find out information about visiting the Andy Warhol museum as well as other museums that feature his work.
