Poker is a card game, the most popular of a class of games called vying games, in which players with fully or partially concealed cards make wagers into a central pot, after which the pot is awarded to the remaining player or players with the best combination of cards. Poker can also refer to Video Poker which is a single-player game seen in casinos much like a slot machine.

For many to play poker is to take a long time training in order to perfect the game and its rules. This is in fact true in all cases especially to those who are just beginning to enter into the world of poker and even to the veterans of the poker game. So for those who wanted to learn the principle behind this latest gambling fad, this article is for you.
So you want to learn on how to play poker? Well, great!
First things first, one should remember that to play poker is to undergo several mode of understanding about the game, its rule, and everything under this latest gambling fad. It is for the reason that the poker game has several deeper matters to understand before one player can master the game. To play poker is therefore to face the principles behind the cards and their rules, to learn the basic rules in order to play poker, to know the lingo, bet smart, and to learn several variations of the poker game. Knowing how to play poker is to know when to hold ‘em and learn when to fold ‘em.
Poker in its very essence is considered to be just a simple game. It has a countless version that is why most of the beginners first learn the 5-Card Draw which is known as “regular” poker to learn how to play poker.
If someone wants to play poker, he or she should note that poker is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The playing cards have a ranking which is known as the poker hands ranking, from the strongest to the weakest suit of cards. To play poker is to understand that the ace holds the highest value, followed by the king, queen, jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2. Also one should note that to play poker, the cards are separated into four suits, which include the clubs, spades, hearts, and diamonds. The basic understanding about the suits will help the poker dreamer to know how to play poker. It is just important to know that to play poker is to understand that the suits are all of equal value, which means that no suit is more valuable than another. Therefore, to play poker is to engage in a very democratic game.
Moreover, to play poker is to know that in the poker hands ranking, the Royal Flush is the strongest followed by the Straight of Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, Three of a Kind, Two Pair, One Pair, and the High Card which is the weakest among the poker hands ranks. So if you want to learn how to play poker, you should note the difference of these poker hands ranking which is beyond the scope of this article for you to play poker with the best moves.
Finally, it is important to note that if you really interested to play poker, you should know that the common problem in poker is that most of the poker players lose sight of the fact that to play poker is to get more chips and not just to get the pot. It is for the reason that many poker players just get the pot regardless of its being full or not. So to play poker is to do something to get more chips so to win the pot.
