You will need to re-seal the granite yourself at least once a year, if not once every six months. This is not hard and for the look the granite will give to your kitchen, it will be worth it.

When you do decide to purchase a slab of granite for your kitchen, go and see it first. Do not purchase natural stone like this online or without seeing it, because you may not be getting what you think. Remnant pieces are sometimes really good buys, since these are leftovers from other jobs.

Stores will sometimes give you the remnant pieces if you pay for the labor. The only thing about budget or remnant granite pieces is you might not be able to get the color, pattern, or amount that you need.
