Wedding Car Hire; Not Just Limos But Tanks As Well
By:Thomas Pretty
The choice of wedding car is a vital constituent of any wedding, living in London the choice of which car to hire is almost endless and a decision can be based upon budget, availability, style and of course the weather. As a wedding day is one of the most important days in anyone's life it is crucial to hire the right car that will suit the happy couple.
In London there is a great deal of choice in wedding cars, a major consideration is whether to hire a classic or not. The elegance of an old Rolls Royce offers timeless style and ensures that the bride arrives at the church in luxury. Models from the forties and fifties are usually the favourite choice of hire car; the classic grill and side skirts provide a romantic look that will please all members of the wedding party.
The majority of wedding car companies provide a chauffeur driven service, these are usually fully uniformed and are a necessity if getting married in London. Having a driver who knows where they are going ensures that bridal parties will not get lost in transit and give the groom a bit of a scare. A chauffeur driven car really takes the stress out of arriving at the church and as these vintage cars are notoriously hard to drive, having an expert on board is highly advisable.
If not a fan of the classic wedding car, there are numerous car hire companies in the London area that offer modern cars that offer prestige and luxury. With a host of large saloon cars, the modern variety of wedding car is unmistakably stylish, without the reliability issues that can arise when choosing a vintage car to hire. Although not every bride's choice, a modern wedding car can be a more cost effective solution to bridal transportation requirements.
An increasing trend in the wedding car market has been the hire of novelty cars that provide a sense of originality to a couple's special day. Such a model is the Pink Cadillac; which despite being a little gaudy, is becoming a popular choice for couples who wish to be different on their wedding day. American cars in general are becoming more widespread for hire as wedding cars, mainly due to their larger size than European models and their original nature, although driving such a wide car around London would probably be difficult.
Modern wedding car services are now also catering for the needs of the groom. The novelty car market has been quick to exploit this market trend supplying grooms with a car that he may have always wished to drive. An example of this is the Trans Am from Knightrider, complete with pulsating LED frontage, although whether it talks is doubtful. Other examples are the Starsky and Hutch car and the A-Team van. Surely every mans dream way of arriving at the church.
Original choices for the wedding car to hire are becoming increasingly strange. There are even companies that will loan a tank out to couples who wish to make an impact on their wedding day. Whether a tank is the best way to do this is questionable but you must respect some couples decision to arrive at the church in a piece of military hardware. Getting permission to drive a tank around the city of London however would most likely be difficult, the congestion problems caused would be immense.
Whether choosing a classic vintage model or a modern elegant saloon the choice of wedding car is completely up to the happy couple. The increased hire of stranger models of car show that traditions are changing rapidly as more couples wish to make an impact. After all it is the couple's day and if they choose to turn up to the church in either the A-Team van or a tank the choice is theirs.
