Basements are commonly dark and damp. This causes children to fear going to the basement. Families believe that basements are only good to use as storage area and nothing more.
Unfinished basement are common occurrence in this country. This is because, they do not find any need for them to have this space below their feet finished or remodeled.
This however may change if you will realize that finished basement can be extremely useful.
Additionally, because most of them are surrounded with earth, it is cool in the winter and cool in summer under your living room. It is lovely to stay in the basement on hot summer days when you finally decide to have it finished or remodeled. The finished and remodeled basement can be transformed into a haven, an accessible escape for you or anyone in your family. It can be your retreat place and a place where you can rest and relax whenever you want to.

You can now relax and keep a schedule for your personal regimen because you already have it inside your own home. There will be no need to drive in town to go to the gym.

Because basements are generally dark, it is the best place to set up your own home movie theater.
You can now enjoy watching unlimited movies with your kids around in your own home movie theater.
You can also invite guests and party in your home theater. This is a neat way of flaunting that remodeled damp and dark room that turned into one of the most useful and enjoyable part of your house.
Who says basements are only useful as storage areas?
Finally, when you decide to have it remodeled and finished, you never need to think of how the worker might mess with your normal activities in the house.
Because commonly it has a different access in and out, no messing in your house will happen as the workers prepare your basement for that grand renewal.
