The Law of Attraction: Focus on Feedback!

By:Benjamin Langley

The universe doesn't always just give you everything you want when you make pretty pictures in your head and say "thank you!" You, like most people, have probably already realized this. If it were this easy, we would all be millionaires. In fact, there would be so many millionaires, that being poor would become 'cool'... i.e. "Oh really, you're a millionaire? Yeah, I know lots of millionaires, but I decided to be poor... I like a challenge in my life!"

The universe is, however, always giving you opportunities to learn and grow. The question is "are you aware of these opportunities, and how are you responding to them?"

I borrowed this concept from Neuro Linguistic Programming. "There is no failure, only feedback!" More advanced students gradually work their way toward "There is only feedback!" Failure only exists because it is a concept we brought into being (some would say we did this through the law of attraction). Unless you have figured out some way that it is useful, you might as well let it go, and learn to view your ongoing experience in a constructive manner.

It is unfortunate, but much of what I have read and heard involving the law of attraction either doesn't emphasize (or completely ignores) the concept of feedback. The general description is that you just keep focusing on what you want, and then the universe will start answering you with an unending shower of stuff.

No matter what direction you take in your life, there will always be feedback. When you do something, and people react, or the environment changes, or your own point of view changes... this is feedback! Paying attention to it, and deciding how to alter your course based off it will determine whether you become a shocking success story, or just another self help junkie spouting empty wisdom.

When you try to learn something new, and it seems very difficult, this is feedback! It could mean that you just need to add a little more practice. It could mean you need to find a better instructor. It might mean that you aren't bringing the appropriate attitude into your learning experience. Or it might mean that it just isn't for you.

When you first begin to learn something new, repetition is incredibly important. Consistency of practice will lead to a powerful understanding of the material.
It is also important to consider the source of the teaching. Is it a book? Some things you can learn pretty easily from a book. Some things are nearly impossible to learn from a book. A qualified instructor can be invaluable assuming you have the time and resources.

It is important to always bring the best attitude that you can into any new learning. If you approach learning with "I'm no good at this!", "This sucks!", or "I just can't get it right!", then not only will you have a miserable learning experience, but you will never develop the level of performance that is possible with proper attitude. Work toward the attitude of "This is fun!", "This is getting easier and easier!", or just good old fashioned Zen emptiness.

When you are clever in your approach to learning, and you pay attention to feedback, you will be amazed at the depth of blessings the law of attraction can bring into your life!

Positive self-esteem is very important if not crucial to our happiness and well being as a human being. Having positive self-esteem can make the difference in that which we take on in life, in that which we go about achieving and creating. Having positive self- esteem also allows us to have healthy and joyous relationships with others, to experience true intimacy.

  • 5). Personal Development & Success - "Creating the Motivation You Need"  By : Jeffrey Miller
One of the most common beliefs that can prevent someone from achieving the success being sought is that "action only happens through motivation" - that, one must wait around for the so-called "feeling to move me" before anything will be accomplished. But, once we understand how we operate, once we discover the secret...

  • 6). Blast Through Barriers to your Goals  By : Kimberly Dawn Wells
One of the reasons we do not face our goals is because when we are faced with an unexpected barrier that we're unsure how to deal with, we shut down. We become discouraged, we start making excuses, and we allow ourselves to back off of our original plan. While this is a human and natural tendency, it's not conducive to success. An important step that you can take to avoid this barrier blunder is that of carefully planning your goal to include backup plans for all those little "what ifs.

Most of the people I hear from hate networking. They go only because they know they "should," but it's like pulling teeth for them. If you find yourself doing the same routine day after day, never remembering what you did the day before, having nothing to look forward to, living your life - but never enjoying it or anything in it...you are probably living your life and the relationships in it on autopilot. The really devastating part about living life on autopilot, especially when it comes to your relationships, is that you don't even know that you're doing it half the time.

  • 9). Focus On Your Goals Without Envying Others  By : John Watson
Many of us waste too much time envying others instead of getting on with our own goals and dreams. This is stupid to put it mildly. For a start, we would probably not envy others if we knew what their lives were really like. Many young men envied and still envy Evis Presley but who wants to die sad, disillusioned and divorced at the age of 42? Billy Connolly, the great Scottish comedian who now lives in California, tells an amusing story about misguided envy: In World War I two men were squatting side by side over the only toilet available.

Fortunately, I've also learned that even without discovering the root causes of my tiredness, there are things I can do to alleviate it.

Now everybody knows and accepts that a shark is a creature of the sea and needs salty water to survive.
