A proper diet and many home remedies will help to reduce the occurrence of acne. Unhealthy food habits result in unhealthy acne prone skin. Processed, refined food and alcohol are the main things that need to be avoided. A healthy diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables are a must. Cereals and pulses should also be included in your diet. Carrots, celery, onions, garlic, cucumber, watercress, seaweeds are very helpful to prevent acne. Some other foods that one can have are whole grains, vegetable juices, sweet potatoes, sprouts, apricots, kale, broccoli, kale and peaches. One should consume more of foods, which contain anti oxidants. Omega-3 fatty acids help to prevent and reduce to a certain extent the inflammation that occurs due to acne. The wild Alaskan salmon and freshly ground flaxseeds are foods, which have a high content of omega-3 fatty acids. Water is a remedy for a huge number of problems. It helps to drain out the toxins in the body naturally. In the case of acne it is also very useful because it keeps the skin hydrated and therefore healthy.
Vitamins are the most important ingredient required healthy and glowing skin. It should be an important constituent of your diet but it should be had with proper guidance.
Vitamin A helps to reduce the sebum production but having it in excessive amounts leads to joint pain, decrease in bone density and a few gynecological problems.
A solution of zinc gluconate helps to readily reduce rashes and inflammation. It also helps to relax the effect of adrenal glands on the skin.
Having a proper metabolism rate is also a must for reducing acne. Regular intake of vitamin B6 is required.
Fried foods, meat, poultry, nut butters, caffeinated drinks should be avoided.
