Your Bahamas Cruise Vacation Is So Close

For those wishing to get away from it all, cheap cruises to the Bahamas can be just the ticket. You can enjoy the natural beauty and the native culture of the Bahamas as well as the cruise ship amenities. On such cruises, there are opportunities for everyone in your party to have a great time.
A cruise to the Bahamas will most likely depart from Florida ports such as Miami, Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale. Since some islands are so close, many cruise packages will have you there within a matter of hours. Located in the Atlantic, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas is a nation found just southeast of Florida and just north of Cuba and the Caribbean.
This archipelago (or string of islands) is comprised of nearly 700 islands and cays. Even cheap cruises to the Bahamas will allow you to visit at least one island during a weekend getaway.
While visiting the Bahamas, you can experience the rich culture, which is a compelling mixture of African and European influences. If you just hear steel drums when you think of Bahamanian music, you have it partly right.
While in the Bahamas, you are likely to hear a rhythmic form of music known as Junkanoo as well as rake and scrape and calypso. Marching bands also play an important role in island life and you may get a chance to see them in action during one of their many festivals.
If you are lucky enough to find cheap cruises to the Bahamas, you will have money left over to explore the many other activities available on the islands. Of course, the biggest draw is the endless miles of gorgeous beaches and warm sun.
In addition to this incredible treat, there are water sports such as snorkeling and diving, glass bottom boat tours, and even submarine tours. You may want to shop for crafts such as palm frond basketry, hats and bags at the charming markets. There are beautiful golf courses on some islands and you can even find places to can swim with dolphins.
Because Nassau is only about fifty miles from the coast of Florida, it is often the first island experienced by travelers. The British colonial heritage of this island and the Bahamas in general feel familiar and exotic at the same time.
The modern resorts and gorgeous beaches make you very aware you are in the tropics. But the fact that everyone drives on the left side of the road and the English style uniforms of the police officers gives it a European feel as well.
A trip to the Bahamas is the perfect vacation for those who want to relax on the beach as well as those looking for more adventure. Cheap cruises to the Bahamas are available if you do some shopping around.
It is definitely worth it to find a good deal on the cruise so that you have enough left in your budget to experience the culture and amenities available in the Bahamas.
