Leadership in Network Marketing

By:Sanjay Johari

Several years earlier I read a book which had this sentence as its title - You are born to be a leader. Since then this sentence has remained at the back of my mind.

With my passing years I am realizing more intensely that everybody is a potential leader. Everyone specializes in some area and he or she is better than others at something. There is some uniqueness in everyone. At times everyone wishes or dreams of achieving something in life. Everyone tends to follow his or her inner voice. Combine all these elements and you have the basic ingredients for a leader. Just shape his mindset and you have the leader in making.

Basic qualities of a leader are present in all of us, but they remain subdued in many people. These qualities can be brought out and nourished to make them more and more effective.

Most of the people wish to be leaders and attain their rightful place in the society. But they feel compelled by circumstances to suppress their desire. They still hope to find an opportunity to bring out their potential.

Network marketing presents such an opportunity, provided you work with good organizations. You are converted into a leader. Right conditions are provided so that your inner qualities come out.

The strength of network marketing are the people who make up the network. The organizations that use network marketing depend primarily on the people in their network to market their products and services. It is therefore in the interest of the organizations to support the people of their network to perform well.

Every person in the network is a marketer. Though he is a part of the organization, he is an independent businessman, not an employee of the organization. He learns from his up-line members and from the resources the organization makes available to him. His own experience becomes a part of his learning.

As a marketer he expands his business by recruiting and helping other members. He helps others to earn for themselves, not for him. As a good leader he shows others the way to fend for themselves, just as he has learned in his business.

Interpersonal skill is at the core of network marketing. Members acquire this skill as they strive to succeed in their business. In the process they bring out their leadership qualities. Like a good leader they start leading from the front.

Helping others to succeed is the most satisfying experience. Network marketers gradually excel in this art. They earn gratitude, friendship and lasting support in addition to their monetary earnings. Network marketing schemes normally have compensation plans which include leveraged earnings and bonus on group performance.

A good leader as a network marketer can earn enormous amount by leveraging the efforts of his members. That is by no means exploiting the people. The network marketer teaches his down-line members to earn for themselves and gradually become good leaders. Just as he was taught to be a good leader.

A proper mindset is necessary for a leader. In most potential leaders this is the only missing part. Good organizations train their members in forming right attitude as much as they train them in marketing skills. Without correct attitude any amount of efforts will not yield expected results. And you can transform your attitude by controlling the way you think. Though it sounds simple most people need some expert guidance to know how it is done.

That is one of the reasons you need to join a good organization for network marketing. With proper help and guidance you can attain success on your terms and live the way you like. And in the process you will become a leader who guides others to shape their destiny.
