5 Ways To Build Quality Back Links
By:Scott Miscall
A successful search engine optimization (SEO) campaign is never complete without creating back links to your web site. The back links are those links residing on other web sites and pointing to your web page. Back links are also called incoming links.
To benefit from the back links they must reside on high-ranking, relevant, and quality web page, have your best and relevant keyword as the anchor text of that link, and the link should be a one-way link pointing to your web site. The total number of links residing on the linking page should ideally be less than 50.
The back link should ideally not have a "rel=NoFollow" attached to it. Such a back link will not only give you a higher value from the search engines, it will also send you quality and targeted traffic. The whole process is extremely important because Google, the best and the most used search engine, considers the incoming links very valuable and rates your web page very highly.
The traffic that is generated by such quality back links and gives your site a very valuable exposure.
Kansas City Web Design highly recommends the following various methods of generating back links to your web pages:
1. Social bookmarking: The back links from these sites are known to create huge amount of traffic to your site. Popular examples of such social networking sites are StumbleUpon and Digg. Social bookmarking sites are immensely popular and is still growing.
2. Article marketing: This is a prestigious way of creating back links and targeted traffic to your web page. The quality articles written set you off as an expert on the topic, and readers will be curious to learn more about you and your site. Normally, the article submission sites only allow you to create such link from your author bio box, also called the resource box. Article marketing is the best possible way to establish credibility with your readers because of the expertise you display in your writing.
3. EDU links: If you can manage to get back links from .edu or .gov sites, then you'll benefit immensely in your SEO campaign, because Google and other search engines respect these sites very much, and any links originating from these sites are considered to be of the highest order by these search engines.
4. Post comments: Posting comments on blogs and forums can give you many back links without working too hard! Write quality comments, because that will again impress other readers and in turn, will want to know more about you and your web site. Try to find relevant forums and blogs for posting your comments. Even if the blog has a "rel=NoFollow" attached to your link, still write quality comments, because the readers will still flock to your web site. The traffic is always more important than the PR (Page Rank) juice!
5. Write good content: Last but not the least, always concentrate on producing good content on your web site. A content having high quality information will soon make the site very popular, and the traffic will be highly targeted to your niche. These visitors will love your site for the quality content and recommend it to their friends. They will even link your site from their own sites, and also from other quality blogs and forums. If your site doesn't have quality content, then all the rest of the back linking strategy will fail in the longer run, because the visitors will be disappointed to see poor quality content. Hence, having good relevant content will always benefit your site.
