Anchor Text Optimization and Keyword Flooding
By:faye bautista
Simply, anchor texts are visible texts in a hyperlink. The use of anchor texts is resorted to by SEO enthusiasts to yield higher search engine ranking. This is because linked texts are relevant to landing pages and search engine algorithms give them greater weight.
Anchor text optimization can be made in 2 ways - externally and internally. External optimization anchor text gets inbound links from other web pages while internal optimization anchor text uses specific keywords to link various pages in the website.
The fact is that search engine algorithms like anchor texts. Moreover, the inclusion of proper anchor texts in web pages is pretty crucial to improve search engine ranking especially in Google, Yahoo and MSN. Google for one, even have a special operator called allinanchor keyword. It selects indexed page contents that incorporate a particular anchor text.
Anchor text optimization is an important technique that conveys what quality SEO linking is all about. Thus, if you intend to be better in the field, the thing becomes an unavoidable subject.
Do not get me wrong, Anchor text optimization is different from keyword flodding. If you cram lots of keywords into your homepage, you are doing keyword flooding. To tell you, it is a big no-no in SEO homepage technique.
Keyword flooding also covers different pages. When the title tag is loaded with keywords, you are also guilty of keyword flooding (also known as keyword stuffing). Using more than 12 keywords in each title tag is already an abuse - it's too much! However, the irony of it is that several webmasters would load web pages with overwhelming - say 100 keywords. This is resorted to by many to boost sales.
The problem with keyword flooding is that they encompass longer time for search engine spiders and bots to see your site as specific. The solution to this is to concentrate on 5 SEO top keywords per web page. Use the least popular keyword phase from a keyword selector tool and use it to compete in search engine rankings. Remember that less popular or less general keywords are more competitive.
Adding quality links is essential to SEO. However, if you are perplexed whether the link request you have is one of good quality or otherwise, it is necessary for you to know what quality link is.
Basically, SEO quality links are links from relevant pages. This should be done in the most relevant manner which is also beneficial to users. Hence, hidden links are not advisable. Quality link should not be just another link from a links page but something more natural than that. Also, quality links are links from those websites that rank high in search engine optimization results, those that have URLs ending in .org, .net, .edu, and more. Generally, the top 10 or 20 websites in a given SEO keyword have quality links.
Obviously, quality links are hard to earn - it takes a lot of effort and persuasion. However, securing quality links pays off. If you have them, your web pages will more likely rank in search engine pages.
If you have been receiving overwhelming link requests, the challenge is to determine the link's value to major search engines. Check the last time the website was cached. This is to be certain that the website is not a dead site. Also check the layout of the site. Be sure that your link will be easily seen by the visitors. You can select the page or placement to be more assured.
