Business Coaching as an Online Business

By:Robert Williams

Business coaching has been increasing rapidly over the past few years. Business coaches used to be only for the executives of big companies but today a wider range of people are taking advantage of them. If you have ever considered a career in business coaching, it is a good time to get started with it.

A business coach works with their clients to capitalize on strengths, improve any weak points and find success in their business. A sports coach works in a similar way, using strengths and weaknesses and improving team work. A coach needs to understand human psychology, be able to identify strong points and weak points and know how to get their client to reach for, and attain, success. You do not need any degree or license to be a business coach although you might want to browse online for courses which offer certificates or accreditation. People will be more willing to trust you if you are accredited.

If you decide to become a business coach, you have plenty of flexibility and choice. You might prefer to work with clients in groups or in a one on one setting. You might want to coach in person, via email, web conferencing, telephone or via an online message board. The start up costs are low and you do not need a lot of technical experience to get started.

You will want to coach your clients on a subject you are familiar with and which you know a lot about. It might be a good idea to get a pen and paper and write down the subjects which come to mind, then you can eliminate the ones you are less sure about. You should take your time doing this although, for many people, there will be one subject that obviously stands out for them.

You could focus on an industry like direct sales or internet marketing. You can then tailor your program to advanced students, intermediates or novices. You might want several programs so you have more scope. You could have a different section each week, which focuses on a new topic within your chosen industry, such as finding recruits, increasing your click-throughs or how to write winning sales letters. You could choose instead to focus on an activity that industry workers would find useful such as advertising techniques or interpersonal skills.

If you have a business yourself, you might want to tie it in with your coaching program. This is especially a good plan for service providers because it can help you find potential clients and add another stream of income for you. A website designer, for example, could make a coaching program about how to promote their website traffic by altering the way the website works or making it easier for visitors to navigate. A virtual assistant could create a coaching program about becoming more efficient and managing deadlines more effectively.

You might like to try business coaching part time or full time and you certainly will find it a rewarding job.

Why do we use experts? To predict the future. Consider a patient who is asking a physician about the future effects of a certain drug, or the investor who is asking a stock analyst about the future prices of a certain stock, or the manager who is asking a human resource manager about the future performance of a certain candidate, or the brand manager who is asking a market researcher about the future sales of a certain new product.

The key factor in the success or failure in a business that specializes in closeouts, liquidations, or selling products on eBay is finding items at good prices that you can make a profit on when you resell them. Contrary to popular belief it is when you buy the item that you make your profit as what you pay for something is what determines how much your end profit will eventually be.
