Airlines do not make much propaganda of their frequent flyer programs, though they get good business from it. The reason why is that if a person is on the frequent flyer program of one airline, there is very less chance that he or she will ever use other airline. The lack of advertisement from airlines makes air miles programs still a very enigmatic thing for the travelers. Current estimates indicate that about 50% of the people who fly often are not affiliated with any such program. These people are having to spend out hundreds of dollars on each of their flight, while they can simply enroll for such a program and get some tickets free. Knowing about frequent flyer programs is one way to Fly Free in these times when air fares are soaring skywards like never before.
