Phuket, acknowledged as the 'Pearl of the South,' or the 'Pearl of the Andaman,' is one of the most premier vacation spots in the world. Located in the sparkling waters of the Andaman Sea and about 850 kilometers south of Bangkok, Phuket is the only island in the country with the status of a province.

Phuket is also the largest island in Thailand, occupying an area of about 570 square kilometers. There are more than 33 islands in Phuket, and the administrative center of the province is Phuket Town, which in turn is regarded as the economic hub of the island. With splendid shorelines, beautiful coves and bays, mysterious caves, secluded islands, lush mountains, and much more, this island destination, in deed, is a not to miss attraction in the country.
