When to Reseed Your Lawn

By:Lance Mohr

If you are like many homeowners, you like to make certain that your lawn and garden are in the best possible condition. In this regard, it may become necessary for you to reseed your lawn from time to time. When it comes to reseeding your lawn, there are some important pointers that you need to keep in mind for example, what time of the year is the best time of year to reseed your lawn.

When it comes to the timing of reseeding your lawn, the reality is that you actually can reseed your lawn any time during the year. For example, if you notice brown patches starting to develop in your lawn, you can take steps to reseed the lawn at that time. The fact is that when it comes to the timing of lawn reseeding, you should act to deal with brown patches as soon as possible subject to the other timing suggestions recommended to you here.

While it is true that you can reseed your lawn any time of the year, the reality is that if you reseed your lawn during the hottest months of the summer, you may not enjoy the maximum effect from your reseeding efforts. Reseeding your lawn when the sun is at its peak can result in the grass now thriving as you would like after the reseeding process is completed.

In Tampa Bay, we don't have to worry about the negative effects that very cold weather can have on the reseeding process. However, the early weeks of fall really do represent the best time to take the time to reseed your lawn for the best results. During the fall, you are able to avoid the harsh effects of what can be nearly broiling sun in the Sunshine State. As was mentioned, it is important to avoid reseeding when the sun is at its most intense.

If you are contemplating selling your home in the near future, you need to understand the curb value that a reseeded lawn can add to your residence. The fact is that when it comes to selling your home, the old adage that you cannot judge a book by its cover ends up being untrue. The fact is that you can judge a home by its exterior and you need to make certain that the exterior of your home is in the best possible condition for a sale. This includes making certain that the lawn itself is in the best possible shape including reseeding if necessary.
