The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a small, landlocked state in the North West of continental Europe, bordered by France, Germany and Belgium.

Unlike many a larger capital, our 1000 year old fortress city divulges many of its premier sights in the space of an afternoons leisurely stroll.

The main centre of our capital city measures merely about a mile by a mile and a half, so you wont get lost, nor will you waste much time in getting to the right parts of town.

You could visit a museum, perhaps take in a concert followed by dinner in one of the cities many fine restaurants.

The next day, have a leisurely lie in in the morning, safe in the knowledge that you have seen the capitals major sights and have truly been there. Unspoilt nature is a mere five minute trains or bus ride out of town, where the worlds densest network of hiking paths entices you to a refreshing walk.

Visitors to Luxembourg pay for their luxury accordingly, but in exchange will find spectacular verdant landscapes crisscrossed by rivers and dotted with fairytale rural hamlets.

The capital, Luxembourg City, maintains a tranquil air of antiquity despite playing frequent host to gatherings of financial world leaders and EU officials. The north of the country lures outdoors enthusiasts with fabulous skiing and hiking. The Moselle Valley, just east of Luxembourg City, is one of Europes most idyllic wine producing regions. And conveniently, the capital is no more than an hours drive from anywhere else in the country, so you can truly get a sense of the lay of the land without spending lots of time doing so.

The Old Town of Luxembourg City, which has UNESCO World Heritage Site status, provides the city's main tourist attractions. The Old Fortress is a unique and historical part of the city not to be missed.
