There is no one perfect way in which parents can make homeschooling a positive experience. But you can always make an effort to make a difference in schooling the children at home. Home schooling is in itself a good approach to schooling kids. If differs from the rigors of the public schooling scenario. Everyone enjoys music. Use the audio books to create interest in reading and making studies more interesting. It helps improve vocabulary and develops listening skills as well. In the early years, keep the lessons short and sweet.

There has to be a method for evaluation of children. If you have clear goals and communicate the same to the children you can work towards achieving it together. Generally there would be some yearly evaluation of the student's progress by ways of tests, oral report, projects etc. Some people feel that homeschooling takes away the social aspect of public schooling. But you can involve your child in various activities like scouting, sports activities and community events and so on. They would find more time to involve in such activities than other kids do.

Plan outdoor sessions, which are enjoyable learning for the children and at the same time- fun. Focus your energy on creating such sessions around an activity, which the children like most. Focus on the positives and strengths of the child and concentrate on improving that. Though you should not ignore the weakness use the strengths to eliminate such weakness gradually.

Every parent has to find and devise his or her own ways of homeschooling the children. Eventually even if the child wishes to go to a regular public school weigh the pros and cons and come to a decision.
