The Right Bathroom Cleaning Products Can Save Plenty Of Headaches
By:dror klar
When you walk into your bathroom, if it looks clean and smells clean, then you probably assume that it is clean. Well, it might be and then again it might not be. The true cleanliness of a bathroom will most likely depend on what it was cleaned with. You can scrub surfaces down thoroughly and this does, of course, make surfaces look clean and smell clean, but if the products you are using do not contain sanitizers such as bleach, then you are not killing the germs and bacteria that you should be.
It is almost impossible to kill all germs and bacteria in a bathroom, but the more you use products to clean with that have bleach or other germ killing substances, the more sanitary your bathroom will be. The kitchen and bathroom are the most bacteria filled rooms in our homes and we should take every precaution we can to help eliminate as many of the illness causing bacteria as possible.
Schedule a thorough bathroom cleaning at least once a week with a couple of quick touch ups in between. Even a 10 minute cleaning job will help cut down on bacteria that can cause flu and stomach related viruses. The cleaning products you use are essential. The newest thing for toilet cleaning that is absolutely great is toilet brushes with disposable heads.
These contain sanitizing cleaners that kill the bad stuff and are then thrown away. Although the inside of the toilet bowl is the most contaminated, the outside toilet surface is contaminated as well. Use a spray cleaner or wipe that has disinfectant for this cleaning as well. Do not forget the floor area around the toilet, especially if you have little boys in the house and you know why. Although they literally aim to please, sometimes they miss.
Another handy product for shower and bathtub stalls are the self spraying cleaners. They can be set to spray the walls around these areas with cleaners that sanitize and reduce the build up of soap scum as hard water. These automatic sprayers are only effective if a shower or bath is already clean. They will not scrub the surface for you and refills can be expensive.
If you have floor tiles, countertops, or tub or shower surrounds that are made from natural stone or some other surface that may be sensitive to chlorine cleaners, make sure you use cleaning products that are recommended especially for them to avoid damaging them.
