Learn All About The Different Types of Bingo
By:Hunter Crowell
When it comes to internet bingo, the cards are the most important thing going. Many people might not know this, but there are quite a few different types of bingo cards. Depending upon which game of bingo you choose to play, you will find that there are many different cards that could be used for your game.
Internet bingo is no different. There is quite a history that follows the many different bingo cards. In the old days of bingo the cards were made by hand. Today's internet bingo makes it possible for a new way to create bingo cards. They are often created by an online number generator, which ensures that the cards come out in a fair nature. In addition to adding a measure of fairness, the number generator has allowed internet bingo to accommodate many different users at the same time.
When bingo creators first saw the need for more cards, they took it upon themselves to create a new system. Mathematicians were hired in order to help with the mass marketing of the new game. When these new folks were hired, thousands of bingo cards were created. Though this seemed like a good system at the time, the mathematicians were burned out by all of the work. Some of them were even sent to mental hospitals because of the mental strain that they experienced during the process.
Still, this was extremely important to the development of bingo and ultimately, internet bingo. With the creation of so many new bingo cards, bingo became much more popular than folks thought it would ever be.
Depending upon which country you play in, there are differences with bingo cards. For example, players in the United States will notice that their cards are markedly different from those in Europe.
Online bingo cards in the United States usually feature a 5 x 5 grid with a wild center square. For most cards in the United States, the wild spot in the middle is marked with a star. There will be a number within each square of a bingo card in the United States. On top of each of the five columns is a letter than ends up spelling out the word bingo. In online bingo, you will find a few variations of these bingo cards, but they will have the same basic form.
In Europe and other places around the world, the cards are a little bit different. You can find this style offered by many online bingo websites, including those in the United Kingdom, Australia, and in New Zealand. U.S. players would find these cards to look quite strange. Instead of the standard 5 x 5 formation, worldwide grids are generally characterized by their 3 x 9 formation. The numeration of the first column begins at 10-19, with the second being 20-29. Eventually, it ends up with the last column at 81-90. In order to win with this type of card, one must clear and entire row of numbers.
Some online bingo games will require a player to clear all of the numbers. It just depends upon the stated rules of the game.
