How to Use PPC in Your Affiliate Marketing Business
By:Ann Liu
If you want your affiliate business move faster, one of the marketing strategies you should use is PPC or Pay-Per-Click advertising. It is one of the four basic types of Search Engines. PPC is also one of the most cost-effective methods of targeted Internet advertising.
According to Forbes magazine, PPC (Pay Per Click) accounts has been increasing to 2 billion dollar a year and it is expected to increase to around 8 billion dollars by the year 2008.
That is a big jump!
Let us take a quick look at how PPC Search Engines work.
These engines create listings and rate them based on a bidder's amount, which is a website owner who is willing to pay for each click from that search engine. Advertisers bid against each other to receive higher ranking for a specific keyword or phrase.
The highest bidder for a certain keyword or phrase will then have his or her web site ranked as number 1 position in the PPC search engines, followed by the second and third highest bidder, up to the last number that have placed a bid on the same keyword or phrase.
Then your ads will appear prominently on the results pages, the position ranking is based on the dollar amount bid that you agree to pay. In the other words, if you pay more or bid higher than other advertiser did, the list of your ads position will have a better ranking.
So how do you make money by using PPC into your affiliate marketing business?
As we know, most affiliate programs only pay you (affiliate) when you made a sale, or a lead delivered after a visitor has click through your affiliate link from your website. Because the content quality as well as the level of traffic that your website has, which determined your earnings would not always be the same.
The reason of why you should incorporate PPC into your affiliate-marketing business is that earnings are easier and faster to make than any other kind of marketing strategies. This way, you will be making profit based on the click through those visitors did.
PPC can be very resourceful for your website as well. With PPC search engines incorporated into your affiliate program, you will be able to profit from the visitor's who are not interested in your products or services.
Here is what I mean - you will get commissions not only from those who are just searching the web and finding the products and services that they want, you will also be able to build your site's recognition as a valuable resource provider.
Visitors who have found what they need from your site are more likely to come back and review closely of what you are offering. If your site provides valuable content, they will eventually come and search for other products and make further purchase.
On the other hand, PPC usually have ready-to-use affiliate tools that you can integrate them into your website. The most common tools are search boxes, banners, text links and some 404-error pages.
Most search engines utilize custom solutions and they can provide you with a white-label affiliate program. This enables you using only a few lines of code to integrate remotely hosted co-branded search engine into your website.
Using PPC in your affiliate marketing business not only helps you make money that is more serious, it also helps you make some extra money on the side. In addition, some PPC search engines allow you to earn a lifetime commissions by just referred some of your webmaster friends to the program.
So Think about it - Where can you get all these benefits while already generating some income for your site? Know some of the more useful tools that you can use for your affiliate program are not a waste of time. They are rather a means of learning within an earning.
