Why Are Hotels A Home Away From Home?

By:Tony Hartmann

Why people travel at all.

People travel for romance, business and education. Others travel just to get away from home for a while. The reasons are different, but most people who travel stay in a hotel while away from home. These places are businesses, but they are also a home away from home. People stay in hotels because they want a base while they attend to other pursuits that are important to them. They might be in Japan for a business trip, but they return to the accommodations that they have booked to have some of the amenities of home. In their work, they have to negotiate contracts or sign deals, and then they want a great place to sleep and watch a little television.

Hotels should provide an atmosphere that makes people feel at home. The institutions will concentrate on this hospitality for their guests. The staff at the hotel will put clean sheets on the bed so their guests will sleep well. They will try to have as many selections on the television so their guests will have something to do in their spare time. The staff here will have restaurants, a coffee shop and room service so the guests at the hotel will have a great meal.

Hotels Differ Greatly in the Amenities

Some hotels are extremely luxurious, and provide incredible amenities for their guests. Some of these great places have spas with saunas, steam rooms, and gyms. There are personnel on hand to give facials and massages for the comfort of their guests. These hotels usually have restaurants with the best food available. These will provide caviar and smoked salmon along with great desserts at the end of the meal. The staff will provide office services and help getting around the city.

Some hotels are much less expensive because they provide only the basic services for their guests. These accommodations have a nice bed for their guests so they can have a good rest every evening. Many of the less expensive places have a television available for the guests. These hotels usually have a restaurant or coffee shop with reasonable rates for the food they provide. Many of the people who stay in cheaper hotels figure that they do not want to spend much time in their accommodations. They are out and about to see the sights of the city or do the business that they came to do.

Our Pauper loves to save money using an airfare consolidator. These consolidators contract with airlines to get tickets at cheaper rates than the general public. Because they buy large blocks of tickets the airlines love them. Though you can get really good deals by knowing how to use consolidators, remember they are not structured for great service.
