A Few Common Pieces Of Landscaping Equipment

By:Scott Fromherz

A lot of yard maintenance involves the cutting of vegetables and for this there are many types of landscaping equipment that one can use. These include gas and electric chain saws, ratchet pruners, electric hedgers as well as string trimmers.

Gas And Electric Chainsaws, Ratchet Pruners, Electric Hedgers As Well As String Trimmers

The Remington Electric Chainsaw is a gas powered chainsaw that is fueled with gas or oil mix and, even though one has to calculate the ratio, it is still quite a useful landscaping equipment. The electric version starts up easily while the gas chainsaws have a starter rope for tugging at in order to start it. Electric chainsaws are easy to handle once the cutting work begins and the 14" Remington only weighs 5.23 pounds.

Ratchet pruners are used to easily cut thick tree branches and are more useful as the ordinary pruners do not handle such tasks. Also, the settings of the ratchet allow multiplication of the hand power and this means that all the work is done by the tool and one only has to know how to handle it. When cutting a branch, the ratchet clicks and then moves on to the next setting thus providing much more pressure as one cuts and is an ideal landscaping equipment for those who may have a hand ailment.

Electric hedge trimmers are inexpensive and lightweight pieces of landscaping equipment that, when compared with the gas operated models, are a better option. The electric hedge trimmer also starts up automatically but there are also many common features to both the electric and gas hedge trimmers.

For those who have finished mowing their lawns and need to trim those blades of grass that were not removed by the lawnmower, the cordless string trimmer would be an ideal landscaping equipment for such purposes. It would make the work relatively easy and one does not have to worry about fueling the string trimmer and it is also quite light in weight and can be easily transported from one end of the yard to the other. Having 18 volts of power may not be as efficient as the gas powered models but nevertheless, it is good for a cordless string trimmer and the battery can hold the charge for half an hour. Cordless string trimmers are also clean and portable though one does have to recharge the batteries, every now and then.

Another piece of landscaping equipment is the pole tree pruner, which is safe to use especially for those who need to trim trees that are small or medium-sized. The pole tree pruner allows a person to maintain their trees in proper shape and there is no need to use a ladder to climb while cutting.
