Perseverance - Needed By All

By:Stephen Campbell

Perseverance is needed in all walks of life and by everyone. Children need to develop perseverance to excel in their studies and their chosen field of arts, music or sports. Perseverance is needed to attain the goals and complete the commitment that you have undertaken.

Perseverance is required to make a relationship work. All relationships need to be nurtured. Developing this value helps us to deal with life, relationships weather storms and face many ups and downs. The bonds of love need to be strengthened with time, it needs patience, determination and perseverance from both partners to work through. To avoid heartaches and heartburns it's necessary that they develop perseverance. Both partners in a relationship need to develop Perseverance to make the relationship last long. People are not born perfect. They have to be accepted with their faults.

Perseverance is an attitude, a frame of mind that can be developed with a positive approach. When you truly want something, or something is very important to you, you will also develop Perseverance to get it. Choose your path carefully; you have to believe in yourself and what you are doing. If it's something you want, you will not face discouragement later. Failures may be there in your chosen path, but you won't be disheartened by it. Your aim will be paramount to override other small letdowns along the way.

Pursue your objective. Develop it and keep yourself motivated to complete the objective and path that you have set for yourself. Your aims have to be reaffirmed every day. It is necessary to ensure that you don't lose track of your end result. The means to complete the objects are as important as the object itself. If you have difficulty in achieving what you set up to do, use your mind as leverage. Associate something pleasant with the task in hand. For example, if you have to finish your school homework, think about the yummy cold coffee waiting for you at the end of the homework. Associate pleasant thoughts and your objective will seem more approachable than before.

Successful people are those who finished what they started. There are umpteen examples of successful people who persevered in face of stiff competition and hurdles. Names like Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Alva Edison, Marie Curie, Tiger Woods, Madonna are galore. They had to develop Perseverance and the determination to keep them going. They rose from humble beginnings and tasted success. Even children need to know the value of finishing something that they have started. This helps to develop Perseverance and instill confidence in them. Simple things like picking up after they have finished their coloring can teach them the value and develop it in their attitude.

Fear is inherent in every person. The definition of fear changes from person to person. You may be scared of speaking in the public and I may be scared of ghosts. Fear has to be conquered in order to succeed. But fears can't be conquered in just a day. They take some time. Every person has to make a conscious approach to conquer the fears within. The sooner one can conquer the fear, the faster they can complete their ambitions. When you develop Perseverance, you have the right attitude. Slowly you will find yourself fighting the fears. By conquering your fears, you keep a track of the priorities that you have set for yourself.

Deadlines are important when you need to attain your purpose. If deadlines are not met, work completion has no value. Without a timeframe, a goal has no purpose. If you want to buy a car, then you can't prolong that decision for the rest of your life. You need to save up and buy a car as soon as possible. Goals are meant to be completed within a deadline.

The aim to develop Perseverance is to ensure that your ambitions are fulfilled. For this determination is as important as Perseverance this helps you to prioritize your resources and time. One can't be working on 10 different things with the same resources at the same time. Resources are scarce and one has to use them in the best possible manner.

Stick to the deadlines and the timeframe as close as possible. Without any Perseverance and determination, deadlines can't be met. If the deadlines aren't met, and then the whole purpose of the objective will be defeated. Your goal is then no longer accomplished.

Remember that small setbacks and failures will accompany you along the way. Develop Perseverance to get ahead of the failures and look towards the future. You have treat the setbacks as stepping stone and learn from them. Don't leave midway or be disillusioned. All successful people have had their share of failures before they tasted their success. With each new lesson learned from your failure, you will gather momentum and reach your goals faster.
