Home Remedies for Alcoholism, Treatment at Home

Alcoholism is a condition in which a person has irresistible urge to consume alcohol. When a person consumes more alcohol than his body limits is often termed as alcohol abuse. This behavior soon takes a shape of a painful disease that kills both his physical as well as the mental health. If he continues drinking for long, he will not be able to resist alcohol and will become totally addicted to it. This situation is called as alcoholism.

Alcoholism is a chronic and it often progressive disease. In which, the person drink alcohol until drinking hurt his or her life. Alcoholics find that, drink those people who have problems with people close to them, with school or work, and with other parts of their lives. If you do not used any treatment during alcoholism disease, it may destroy both emotional and physical health and may lead to death. In alcoholism, mostly it affects the digestive system, pancreas, nerves, and heart.

Grapes contain pure form of alcohol, so a person who wishes to quit alcohol drinking, should have a meal of grapes every 4-5 hours for about a month.

Alcoholism treatment using Dates Dates are considered beneficial in the treatment of alcoholism. The patient should drink half a glass of water in which four or five dates have been rubbed together. This remedy should be taken twice daily for a month. It will bring definite relief.

The juice of Bitter gourd leaves is very good for clearing intoxication. 3 tspns of juice mixed in a glass of buttermilk is very good as it helps to heal the damaged liver also.

Add 1/2 glass of celery juice to a glass of water. Patient can take this drink 1-2 times a day. It helps in cleaning off the toxic materials within the stomach, and lowers the carving for alcohol

Wild thyme waterbased extract combined with alcohol causes nausea and vomiting and help to get out of the habit of drinking. For this take 3 tablespoons of wild thyme, add 1 cup of boiling water and let it sit for 1 hour. An alcoholic should take 1 tablespoon of the extract 3-4 times a day. Or you can add just a little bit of the extract to alcohol without telling an alcoholic about it.

Take a glass of carrot juice, whenever you feel an urge to consume alcohol. Having carrot juice helps reduce the temptation.

Apples is one of the beneficial remedy for alcoholism. A generous intake of apples helps remove intoxication and reduces the craving for wines and other intoxicating liquors.
