1). Parents – Exercise Your Control
Just as it is your job to protect your children in every day life, it is your job as a parent to protect your children online. Parents who wouldn’t allow their children to go out with people they don’t know often think nothing of letting their children spend hours online chatting with strangers. Today, online crimes can easily enter your home, so it is your responsibility to make your child aware of the online dangers that exist.

2). Establishing Communication To Promote Online Safety For Children
Allowing your children to surf the Internet is a great learning experience. Children online have access to resources from all over the world as no generation before them has. Unfortunately, they are also exposed to people all over the world – both good and bad. What can parents do to protect children from online dangers? Keeping an open line of communication with children is the most important step towards online safety.

3). How To Deal With Cyber-Bullying?
There have always been bullies, but the Internet has opened a whole new realm – cyber-bullying. Cyber-bullies are children who verbally harass other children online. While this is not officially considered an online crime, it can be detrimental to your child’s self esteem. Cyber-bullying can include cursing your child, spreading rumors about them and posing as your child in chat rooms.

4). Recognizing Signs Of Online Danger
Online crimes against children are on the rise. Research has shown that one out of every five children online is susceptible to being approached by an individual attempting to solicit sex. These predators, predominately male, are likely to frequent unmonitored chat rooms, dating websites, and online friends sites like MySpace and HI5 in order to meet their potential victims.
