Damien Chambers Profile and Articles

1). Bloody Mallory - A Decidedly Different Horror Flick
Tagline: Evil Has a New Enemy.

When I think of off-the-wall horror/comedy films, rarely do the French spring to mind. But that’s exactly where this guilty pleasure of a movie originates from. Featuring an international cast, Bloody Mallory aims for cult status with an eclectic blend of martial arts, manga attitude, and lots of girls in brightly-colored wigs.

2). Jamie Gold - Bio of a WSOP Champ
Jamie Gold didn’t start out as a poker player. In fact, he started a career in the entertainment business at the tender age of 16, working as an intern for the prestigious firm of J. Michael Bloom and Associates Talent Agency in New York City.

After completing high school, Jamie attended the University of New York at Albany and graduated with honors.

3). 10 Greatest WSOP Players
Every year, gamblers from all around the world flock to Vegas in order to compete in the World Series of Poker. At stake are millions of dollars and the coveted bracelets which are awarded to the champions of each event. Below, I’ve attempted to identify the ten men who may be the greatest to ever compete in (and win) the yearly event.

1. Doyle Brunson – “Texas Dolly” is arguably the greatest card player alive today.

4). Dawn of the Dead is a Bloody Good Time
Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Tagline: “When there’s no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.”

I’d like to start this review by committing horror movie blasphemy. Ready? Here goes. George Romero’s original three Dead movies are overrated (I’m not even going to comment on the train wreck which is Land of the Dead). While entertaining, they are also low-budget flicks with average acting and pacing about as slow as the shambling zombies depicted therein.

5). Hellboy Fails to Deliver the Goods
Comic book films are all the rage these days. Ever since movies like X-Men, Blade and Spider-Man conquered the box office, Hollywood execs have been scrambling to mine the latest hot property from the printed page. When done correctly, these films capture the wonder and imagination of their original source material (which is saying a lot). When they fail, as in the case of movies like Electra and The Incredible Hulk, they become bland exercises in mediocrity - something which the boys in Los Angeles are all too familiar with.

6). Movie Review - The Long Goodbye is Gould's Finest Moment
Tagline: "Nothing says goodbye like a bullet."

When I hear the name Elliott Gould, the word "tough-guy" doesn’t immediately spring to mind. No, I tend to think of his roles in films like MASH, Ocean’s Eleven and Capricorn One. So imagine my surprise when I learned that he had played the quintessential detective, Philip Marlowe, in the 1973 film entitled The Long Goodbye.

7). Review of The Devil's Rejects
The Devil’s Rejects (2005)

Tagline: “A Tale of Murder, Mayhem, and Revenge.”

Sequels are a tricky proposition for most filmmakers. Often, whatever magic existed in the first film is lost by the time the second hits the screen. This is not the case with The Devil’s Rejects, a follow-up to the 2003 low-budget House of 1000 Corpses. Instead of simply.

8). List of 10 Best Online Casinos
Trying to find a good online casino can often be a daunting task. With so many choices out there, how do you know which ones are safe, secure, and honest? To assist you in your search, I’ve compiled a Top 10 list of online casinos. In order to put the list together, I looked at payout percentage, bonuses, customer reviews, and online rankings. You can gamble at any of these casinos with the knowledge that you’ll be treated fairly.

9). Review of High Tension (2003)
High Tension (2003)

Tagline: “Hearts will bleed.”

Every time I go to the video store, I’m assaulted by a new wave of low-budget horror flicks. Many have slick packaging and can boast either an award or critical praise, while others look like they were put together in the dark by rabid monkeys. Either way, the outside of the film often has very little to do with what’s on the inside.

10). Phil Hellmuth, Jr. - Bio
One of the most controversial players in the world of poker, Phil Hellmuth, Jr. is often known by the not-so-affectionate moniker of “The Poker Brat.” But while his antics at the table have been known to ruffle a few feathers, Hellmuth has also been one of the most dominating players over the course of his career. In fact, many fans of the game view him as the face of professional poker, especially Texas Hold ‘em.

11). Stars Who Play Poker
Turn the channel to any high-stakes poker event, and chances are high that you’ll see at least one Hollywood celebrity in the thick of the action. With flexible schedules and larger-than-average bankrolls, celebrities have both the time and inclination to hone their poker playing skills in tournaments around the world. Some, of course, never rise above the rank of amateur, but others go on to become familiar faces in the world of poker.

12). Bio of Jennifer Harman - Female Poker Player
Jennifer Harman is a professional poker player from the United States. She has been called the best female poker player in the world, and many people consider her one of the best players around, regardless of gender.

Born and raised in Reno, Nevada, Harman started playing poker at eight years of age. She was taught the rules by her mother and would often sit in when her father played cards with his friends.

13). Transporter 2 - Looking Under the Hood
Tagline: The Best in the Business is Back in the Game.

There’s something inherently thrilling about watching the hero of an action movie defy the conventional rules which govern our mundane world. Whether it’s sliding down an elevator shaft, fighting a dozen men at once, or jumping off a cliff and grabbing onto a passing helicopter, we’re always ready to suspend our disbelief and live vicariously through these men of action.

14). The 10 Most Beautiful Female Poker Stars
10. Jennifer Harman - While she may be cute as a button, don’t let her innocent looks fool you. At the poker table, Jennifer Harman is as vicious as they come. With two World Series of Poker bracelets and over $1,000,000 in tournament earnings, Harman is considered one of the finest poker players in the world, regardless of gender.

9. Jennifer Tilly - Born to a Chinese father and an Irish-Canadian mother, actress Jennifer Tilly has been blessed with an exotic beauty.

15). Ravenous - Its Bite Is Worse Than Its Bark
Tagline: You are who you eat.

I’ve always been a sucker for movies that are a bit outside the norm. Hell, who am I kidding? I love movies that are way outside the norm. Sure, most of them may be doomed to box office failure and critical ridicule, but they’re a nice change of pace from the mindless drivel Hollywood routinely churns out. Now, don’t get me wrong--I actually like some of the aforementioned mindless drivel, but variety, as they say, is the spice of life.
