1). Glycemic index diets can help to control blood sugar level
Study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition findings are that assessing a meal using the glycemic index, which lists the quality of carbohydrates contained in many common foods, appears to be a good way to predict the effect a meal will have on blood sugar levels, this is important information for diabetes patients.

2). What you should know about glycemic index
Applying GI to real-life diets is complex, weigh all information before relying on glycemic index.
If you check different sources on the GI of foods, the numbers don't always match.
The glycemic index takes into account only the type of carbohydrate, not the amount of carbohydrate, in a usual serving. Some foods are more concentrated sources of carbohydrates than others.
3). Low glycemic index diets are better then high protein diets
Australian research team lead by Dr. Jennie Brand-Miller at the University of Sydney conducted a trial in which 129 overweight subjects ages 18 to 40 were randomly assigned to one of four weight-loss diets for 12-week. All four diets were comprised of reduced fat (30 percent of total energy intake) and held daily calories to 1400 kcal for women and 1900 kcal for men.
