1). Discovering Words That Are Guaranteed To Sell
Many folks have asked for a list of words that can be used in ad copy to increase profitability. Of course you can discover your own magical profit words with Glyphius, but I thought I would list a few that I have discovered.
First of all, I want to cover something even more powerful than a word that was discovered in the Glyphius research. The lowly period.
2). Interesting Preliminary Results On Headlines
Soon, I’ll do a large study on headlines using a list of profitable and unprofitable sites. However, I have been running some split tests and have seen some interesting results in the last week or so. The sample size is small (3 sites), but all three split tests agreed on the following factors:
1. Blue (#000080) is winning over black by a small margin on all three sites.
3). Finding Publishers For Your Articles
Many are searching for more publishers for their article marketing activities. Submitting to the same old directories used by everyone else just isn't working very well anymore. I use three major methods to find publishers for article submission:
1. Buy Lists Of Publishers
Usually you would never want to buy an email list of anything. That will only lead to SPAM complaints.
4). Split Testing Sucks And Other Heresies
Split testing is what marketing is all about; right? Wrong! There is a much better way to get the answer to 95% of the kinds of questions you might consider split testing. Let’s step through it.
First of all, you must decide your desired outcome. Is it profitability? Is it search engine ranking? Is it more traffic? Is it more inbound links?
Once you have decided your desired outcome, you must find a way that OTHER PEOPLE’S sites can be measured for that outcome.
5). Getting Blog Visitors
This article will cover one of the unique methods of getting traffic to a blog that doesn’t work for regular sites. Remember that every blog is a web-site, but not every web-site is a blog. My top methods of getting traffic to a web-site are still my top methods of getting traffic to a blog. Those include: article marketing, link building and content creation/ranking factors.
6). Impressions, Clicks, Leads, Sales
Recently someone asked a question that made me realize that most folks haven’t been around the 'net as several models for selling advertising were attempted. This primer should help everyone understood all of the terminology that goes into selling advertising.
Let’s start with the word “impressions”. This is a model of selling advertising where you pay for each person that sees an ad.
7). My Sidetracking Experiment
About 2 1/2 months ago, I started an interesting experiment of putting user generated content on the back end of sales pages. This technique was first names "Sidetracking" by the now retired Wayne Yeager.
I thought I would share the results. First, let’s look at the resources I devoted to this task:
1. I spent 25 minutes creating a suitable template.
8). What To Put On Content Sites
I am constantly asked the following question:
“What should I put on my content sites?”
Of course they are asking about my traffic generation strategy where I recommend creating content sites and pushing the traffic to a product site.
Here are some possibilities to put on your content site:
1. A Resource Directory
Resource directories used to be a great form of content.
9). Why You Should Blog!
I have been blogging for just over two months now. Many of my mentoring students have been asking my advice on blogging. I have so far hesitated to teach much about blogging, because it’s not something I feel I “know” yet. I feel much more comfortable teaching about things I know.
Well… I took a look at Alexa today and noticed that this blog almost hit the top 10,000 most visited sites on the Internet today.
10). Basic Internet Marketing 101
To have a successful Internet business, you need only three things:
1. Product
2. Copywriting
3. Traffic
It really is that simple. If you have those three things… competently performed, you will have a succesful, profitable Internet business. Let’s talk about competency in each of those three areas and how you can quickly master each one.
Product
You need a product that people want.
