1). Networking Is More Than Just Handing Out Business Cards
At a Chamber of Commerce Business Card Exchange several years ago a well-dress woman walked up to me, business card in hand and, in perfect form held it in both hands in front of me, gesturing for me to take it. I took the card from her and smiled. She looked up and in a polite voice, said "Thank you," and walked away. How sad. Here was this obviously well-intentioned woman, who most likely owned an interesting business but never learned what to do at a card exchange.
2). Don't Be Held Hostage By The Price Of Gasoline
It seems everywhere you go these days, at least in the US, the conversations are about the price of gasoline.
No wonder, since it's broken the $3.00 a gallon barrier and is causing a lot of people real hardships.
I'm old enough to remember the gas lines of the 1970's when a similar situation occurred. At that time, I had a production services company in New England, in partnership with a man named, Irving Goldmacher.
3). Are Your Goals Exciting?
With fall upon us, now is the perfect time to think about your future and begin to design the kind of life you'd like to be living. Unfortunately, too many people leave their lives to chance and happenstance, not taking the time to write down their goals and create plans to achieve them. This can be a huge mistake. Not having written goals would be like going on vacation without a destination, something most people would never consider doing.
4). Making Money With Information Products
Invariably, when I do a seminar, especially one about money or starting your own business, one or two people will come up to me and ask “What’s a good business to get into to make a lot of money?”
Wrong question!
In my experience, whenever I’ve done something purely to make money, I’ve spun my wheels and wasted a lot of time.
Better, more powerful.
5). Bouncing Back From Difficult Times
Life happens. It doesn’t matter how positive an attitude you have or how balanced and centered you are, there are going to be times when you are knocked down. Ties when your carefully organized life is turned upside down and you get knocked on your rear end. Life happens.
You will no doubt experience serious illness in either yourself or someone close to you.
6). Simple Steps Lead To Successful Books
Like most first time authors, I figured that once the word was out that I'd written a book, the world would beat a path to my door wanting to buy it. I'll admit I gave little thought to marketing until the day my first printing of Handbook To A Happier Life was delivered. In a panic, I called a published author I knew and asked, "What do I do now?" She suggested several books about book marketing, which I bought immediately.
