1). Is the Media Blocking the Message of American’s who Don’t Support Israel?
The strong U.S. support for Israel is daunting to most Muslims. A poll conducted by the LA Times indicates that in the recent assault of Israel against the Lebanese that 43% of Americans believe the attack was justified and not harsh in its treatment of the Lebanese people (Wallsten & Ghlert, 2006). Yet the study also showed that 44% of Americans feel that the war was either not justified or that the Israeli response was excessive.
2). Iran Builds Support Among Muslim Nations
The U.S./Israel coalitions have been at odds with the Iranian government over Iran’s nuclear program. Diplomatic efforts have soured over the U.S. Israeli belief that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons. Iran contends that the nuclear program is to make energy and resents any interference from countries deemed hostile to their cause. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad states that he is willing to talk about the program to anyone except Israel who has keeps “bombs over our head”.
3). The Wavering U.S. Economy and a Few Suggestions
The U.S. Trade Gap narrows slightly to 64.8 billion dollars. The United States has the world’s largest economy with a GDP (Gross Domestic Product) 12.41 trillion dollars ($12,400,000,000,000.00). Being once one of the world’s largest creditors it is now debtor nation borrowing money from others.
The period between 1930 and 1970 saw massive growth in the United States economy.
4). Declining Detroit and Its Solution
Detroit has been on the decline for over four decades with little left to spur it back into shape. Detroit started as a trading and commerce area between French Europeans and Native Americans. A fort was built to protect the strong area and access restricted to traders. In 1760 Detroit ownership went to the British and in 1815 the city was incorporated.
5). Political Reality of Iran
Iran is between a rock and a hard place when it comes to their economic and political survival. Iran is under considerable pressure to give up its nuclear energy program by the implementation of U.N. security resolutions. Yet the situations isn’t as easy for the Iranians as they will have to choose between a powerful energy resource that will spark its growing economy or serious economic consequences that may hinder future growth.
6). The Single Life/Divorced Males
The single life can be as difficult as starting over after a major disaster or death in the family. Of course we cannot include the young and always single in this article as they do not know any better, have not dealt with raising children or truly loved another person. It is the 30-year-old’s and older who are divorced and alone that are having the hardest time making adjustments to their new found ways of life.
7). Iran is One of the World’s Leaders in Cloning
Iran announces that they have cloned their first sheep thereby shocking the world’s preconceived notions that Iran is a fundamentalist and 3rd world nation. Today they have shown that they are as technologically and politically as savvy as the rest of the Industrial countries. Iran wants to become a regional center for medical, aerospace and nuclear technology by 2025 and they are well on their way to accomplishing this.
