1). Communication Skills Required
One of the most basic characteristics about humanity is our ability to communicate with each other in such a variety of meaningful ways. Because communication is vital for any relationship, job, or thing of importance in life, there can be few things as important as taking time to develop effective communication skills.
Without proper communication skills a person's life will never reach full potential. I'm convinced that our communication skills are one of the keys to any...
2). Go Carefully Into Dating
Whether you are fifteen or thirty-five, dating is something that should be thought about and done carefully. There are few if any areas of your life that you should proceed with as much caution in as dating.
Before anyone thinks of dating someone else, they should take some time to evaluate themself and their current life situation. Someone with large questions about who they are or about what want to do in life should be hesitant to enter into a dating situation.
3). Decorate With Japanese Art
Decorating any home, apartment or office space is no easy task, especially if you have an eye for detail. It is even harder to decorate well when you realize how much it matters to decorate your space in ways that reflect you. I have recently been busy redecorating my office. It was very important for me that my office reflect who I am and that it be a comfortable environment for writing in.
4). The Blessings (And Curses) Of Pregnancy
Pregnancy is one of the most amazing experiences that any woman can have in life. Women who have had the privilege of carrying and bearing children know exactly what I mean. The ability to become pregnant and carry a child in your womb as it develops into a fully functioning infant is one of life's biggest miracles. For all the blessings of pregnancy it is not, however, without its struggles.
5). Create The Perfect Garden Pond
One of the biggest privileges in my life is the ability to own my own home and property. My family and I have been blessed to be able to purchase land and create the home of our dreams on it. When I am not busy writing, there are few things you can find me doing as often as tending to my ever- messy home and overwhelming lawn and garden. I have a love and hate relationship with these chores.
6). Be Good To Your Stomach
Our stomach is one of the parts of the body that receives the harshest treatment and the least appreciation. Think about it. When is the last time you were really thankful that your stomach was working properly? Perhaps it takes seeing a friend or family member who has a rough stomach for us to really be grateful for our stomach health. But it shouldn't.
7). A True Emergency
Many things in life that feel urgent can actually be held off another day. Washing a car, paying a bill or reading your favorite magazine can just as easily be accomplished tomorrow without any serious affect on your life. One thing that cannot wait another day is improving your sense of joy and satisfaction about your life. A feeling of being unsatisfied or unhappy with your current life is a true emergency that everyone should take heed of and respond to with intention.

8). A Little Charm Won't Cut It
Life isn't easy. It is anything but easy to maneuver your way through the world and spend your life doing things that really matter and having relationships of any value. It is hard to make the kind of life you dream about a reality. Some people think that success in life comes simply by being good looking or by using a little charm. For most people, however, life doesn't work quite like that.
Creating the kind of life you hope for take hard work. There is absolutely no wa...
9). I Dare You
Do you remember playing the game 'dare' with your friends as a child or teen? I sure do. I remember sitting around at sleepovers and parties taking turns giving dares to each other. We would dare each other to do the silliest or most scary things we could think of. Perhaps it would be to jump into a pool or lake in the winter or maybe we would dare each other to make a prank phone call to the neighbors.
I miss those days of playing dare. Not that I miss being made to do th...
10). Avoid A Car Accident!
One of the most tragic things that we too often hear about in almost every city in the world is car accidents. It seems like hardly a week goes by when I do not see on the news or read about a fatal or near fatal car accident that happened somewhere. I have been plagued with thinking about the tragedy of car accidents all week long. Last week a fatal car accident happened in my hometown that took the lives of three teenagers.
11). Get Away On A Caribbean Vacation
Everyone needs to get away on a vacation once in a while. Life is far too stressful and to busy for people to always work and never play. Whether you are single, married with children, or about to retire, it is equally important that you allow yourself and your family to enjoy some down time to get away from the busyness of life. A Caribbean vacation can be the perfect way for many people to do just that.
12). Use The Perfect Party Supplies
Everyone loves to attend a great party, but far fewer people I know love to throw a great party. Why? Because it takes a lot of time, energy, and attention to detail to throw any truly great party. From my experience, one of the biggest things that causes people to hesitate about throwing parties is their lack of understanding of what it really takes.
13). Hot Chocolate Hits The Spot
I love almost everything about winter. I love the colder weather, I love the snow that falls to cover the ground and tree limbs, and I love taking any chance I get to be outside and enjoy the unique time of year. There is nothing better than taking a long winter hike or spending a few hours outside building a snowman with children or friends. As much as I love being outside, sometimes the cold air gets to me and I just need a break.
14). Get Some Garden Tools
It is spring now, and for many people, that means getting out into the garden. I for one love getting into my garden and spending hour after hour preparing the soil and planting the seeds of my favorite vegetables, fruits and flowers. If you love to garden then you know a few things are absolutely essential. Having the right garden tools is one thing that no gardener, however amateur or experienced, can go without.
15). A Color Chart: For Use Before You Decorate
As an interior designer, there are many tips I give my clients to aid them in making decisions of all kinds about the planning of their homes. I really enjoy walking with people through all of the various decisions that need to be made. I find that one of the hardest decisions that people have to make about their homes is color. Obviously, choosing the right colors for both the inside and the outside of a home can be an overwhelming serious of decisions because you do not want to go wrong.
16). Music: An International Language
I want to give you a challenge. Find me a country that does not have music of some kind. Search anywhere you like. Explore the jungles of South America, make your way through African tribes, or discover the peoples of South Asia. No matter where you visit I guarentee you this: every country will, without doubt, have some form of music. Their people will make music, play music, and move to music.
17). Decorate For Less With Art Posters
If you are looking for great ways to decorate your home or office, then you know as well as I do that you have nearly countless options. There are so many ways to decorate that it can easily be very overwhelming to find the right things that are in the right budget. As an interior designer, I am often meeting with clients who are overwhelmed with their options and who are having trouble staying within a budget.
18). Garage Bands: A Secret Surprise
Do you ever wonder what is happening inside of your neighbor's closed garage? Have you heard strange noises while walking by in the late afternoon? Do you often see teenagers emptying out of cars in the front yard? If so, you may be closer than you realized about discovering what is a secret to most people: the wonderful but often hidden world of garage bands.
Garage bands are a source of fun, creativity, and building friendships for young people. Those with unpolished mus...
19). Visit A Department Store And Be Amazed
I love to shop as much as most of the women I know. I enjoy nothing more than an afternoon or a weekend with nothing on the agenda other than to shop. However, as all busy people know, life rarely provides such a time. More often than not my shopping happens in small segments of time in between other errands and responsibilities. In the past few years, shopping at a department store has become my best friend for this very reason.
20). Learn Anything With Flashcards
If you're like me, than you have a little trouble memorizing facts or quotes or things of the like. For my entire school career I had trouble learning facts like my times tables or my spanish alphabet. I could never get the information in my head long enough to stay put. I could read a sheet of paper with important facts over and over and not be able to repeat the information an hour later.
21). Everything Italian
I have had many opportunities to travel in the past few years. I am grateful for each chance I have had to see new parts of the world and to learn from cultures and people that are different from me. There are valuable things to be gained from all cultures, but I have fallen in love with all things Italian.
I have never been somewhere as magical and wonderful as Italy.
22). I Grew Up On A Clarinet
For the most part, I loved my childhood. I loved growing up in a house full of brothers and sisters. I always had a playmate and there was never a dull moment. We had great family time and my mother was the most amazing cook. We all had to take lessons of all kinds from the time we were really young. I remember being forced into trying piano and clarinet from around the time I started elementary school.
23). Need A Little Inspiration?
Life is hard. Sometimes is gets dull and boring and it seems like good times will never come again. Everyone has been at that place at one time or another. Everyone needs a change or a little pick-me-up once in a while. Everyone needs a bit of inspiration. Each person will find inspiration in different places and by doing different things.
If you feel in need of a little inspiration, take time to consider what things you could do to add a little spice to your life. Is th...
24). Everyone Needs To Party
No matter what your age or what your life looks like, you must take time to party. That's right - party! Everyone needs a break from the rut of everyday life but not everyone has the time or money to afford taking an exotic vacation. Taking time to host or attend an energizing party can be as easy and inexpensive as you make it.
The first step for busy people is to make time in your schedule to relax and celebrate.
25). Estate Sales
There are many places to find the perfect furniture for your home and perhaps even more decorating styles to choose from. Most cities are filled with furniture stores, used furniture stores, and even warehouses of extra furniture that need to be sold. There are countless online sources to purchase furniture from as well. One of the best places to find the perfect decorations and furniture for your home, however, is a resource that few people utilize or perhaps even know about...
26). Use Educational Software
If you are a parent of growing children than you know the seriousness of the task of teaching and preparing your children for the things they need to know for school and for life. If you desire a mid-life career change you must know that there will be hard work and learning involved. Even if you are a grandmother with extra time and a desire to continue learning new things, you know that your learning will require hard work and time.
