1). American Morality – A Study in the Lesser of Two Evils
Evangelist Vance Havner told the story of a boy who brought home a watermelon he had stolen from his neighbor’s farm and proudly showed it to his parents. They knew he had stolen the watermelon but after looking it over for a moment all his parents had to say to their son was… “Don’t get any more of them because you don’t know what they have been sprayed with.
2). What is a Prophet – Are There Prophets in Our World Today
The secular and commonly held belief about prophets is that they are people who are able to “see” the future and make it known to someone, thus they are sometimes referred to as “seers.” This notion may be partly true, what this definition lacks can be the stuff you don’t know that can hurt you.
The greatest single definition I have ever found is that a prophet is one who “tells forth the will and counsel of God.
3). Israel is Still Gods Clock – So What Time Is It
As Americans viewed the history channel’s piece on the antichrist they heard the narrator ask the question, is the re-birth of Israel in 1948 really the ultimate sign of the end of the world as we know it. With full blown skepticism the commentator proceeded to show how it might be, but it could also be an overrated notion of the preachers, theologians and eschatologists.
4). The World Famous 666 – What is this Often Misunderstood Number and What Does it Mean
Question
What is the mark of the beast, the now world famous 666?
Answer
There is more controversy flying around this loaded question than I care to address, but for the sake of those who have no knowledge at all on this subject I will try to break it down in terms that are understandable. What can be known about it for certain is that it is the mark that represents the antichrist’s economic system.
5). Entertaining America – The Staggering Cost in Dollars and Lives
Movies are now produced at costs that rival the gross national product of some small nations. Media including TV, music, internet, games, and casual cell phone use cost as much as it would to feed nearly every person in Africa. But there is another cost that cannot be calculated in dollars.
It seems like a competition between film producers that has no top end.
6). Is Peace in the Middle East Possible – History and the Bible Team up to Answer that Question
I watched one day as a news reporter interviewed a Muslim student in the lecture hall of one of America’s most prestigious schools. The young man was adorned with a silk headpiece and appeared to come from a very wealthy Arab family I supposed. When asked whether Israel had a right to live in peace in the land that they now held as their homeland he became flustered and indignant.
7). Immigration in America - Not Everyone is Dying to Get Here
Not everyone in America views people from Mexico and Pan America as our little brown brothers to the south. With a deep culture and a rich heritage older than our own these people have much to be proud of. Economically and politically they are suffering behind the eight ball of progress but as in any country life goes on there.
This writer has family in Mexico and because of that I have had the good fortune of spending a lot of time in Old Mexico.
8). Hollywood Celebrities and Pop Culture – The Rape of the Mind
Fame, fortune, and power stand at the top of the heap when it comes to what we call success. Most peculiar of these is fame. It seems the rule, which is rarely spoken out loud is, anyone who is very well known didn’t get that way because they did everything wrong. Oh really! Who hasn’t heard the names of some famous criminals like John Dillinger or Al Capone or John Wayne Gacy? Many of these criminals were even trusted and held hero status in the minds of some people.
9). Murphy’s Law We Know – Check out Josh Billings Law
Young men and women attending Bible schools and seminaries are usually required to take at least one course in the art and science of preaching. This kind of study is called homiletics and deals with the purpose and structure of the sermon. Students are taught different types of preaching such as expository, which is to simply read the scriptures in a narrative form and expound on its most basic meaning.
10). Making Merchandise of Christians – Prosperity Gospel Blight
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: 2 Peter 2:3a. The Apostle Peter makes this statement in his second epi
11). Hurricane Season – How Can You Prepare for It
As we waited to return to the New Orleans area to see what was left of our house after hurricane Katrina, our area was visited by hurricane Rita and that storm summarily squashed any hope we had left of recovering anything. When we finally saw our house and our entire neighborhood, there was nothing to salvage and we could only stand in awe of the destructive power of these mighty storms.
12). Making the World a Better Place One Single Thread at a Time
Jesus Christ did not always answer a question about life with a religious answer. When they asked him big questions about kingdoms and religions he often pointed them to smaller and more approachable matters like helping one individual at a time. In fact Christ was constantly steering his disciples away from big earth shaking type questions. He pointed them back to the least common denominators such as love, kindness and faithfulness over the smallest responsibilities.
13). Islamic Militancy – Seed for the Next Dark Ages
We teach our collegians well about the period known as the dark ages but do we thoroughly explain what brought on this horrible period across the globe? With little fanfare the answer to that question is an unequivocal no.
Let’s do the math here. The marriage of civil and ecclesiastical power is without dispute the singular cause of the horrors of the dark ages.
14). Forget Politically Correct – Check out Politically Ignorant
In August of 2006 CNN News conducted a poll that was meant to see how the average American viewed the Hezbollah. The result would leave anyone with an ounce of political savvy in a state of disbelief.
The poll concluded that forty seven percent of those polled think Hezbollah is friendly toward America. Leaving aside the generally accepted idea that our allies’ enemies are our enemies you’ve got to wonder if those polled have a clue.
15). Spike Lee and Ray Nagin - What do They Have in Common
Spike Lee was born Shelton Lee in Atlanta, Georgia in 1957. He came from good African American stock his father being a jazz musician and his mother a school teacher where he was raised in Brooklyn, New York.
Lee’s When the Levees Broke aired as a four hour long documentary on the Katrina disaster replete with a appearances and comments by Lee himself.
16). Billy Graham, America Salutes You
America has had its great share of renowned preachers, missionaries and evangelists but none can hold a candle to the Reverend Billy Graham. His influ
17). The Origins of Spurious - The Un-Intelligent Design of Darwinism
The basis for this article is connected to a well known Bible verse from 2 Thessalonians 2:11. It is important to keep this reference in context with the surrounding verses. The entire chapter is the best context here as it seems to be centered on this one single idea, namely that Christ will not return until the Anti-Christ appears and finishes his brief but horrific rule.
18). American Sleeping Giant Awakes – But is too Heavy to walk on Islamic Jihadist Eggshells
One of America’s largest Christian broadcasters, Trinity Broadcasting Network has decided to drop one of its shows because it does not want to agitate Muslim Jihadist. Of course they say it is because they don’t want to offend Muslims in general and that because they are beginning to broadcast into Arab countries. Nevertheless the dye is cast and with a brand of political correctness of their own making they plan to bounce the long running show created by the late Zola Levitt.
19). The Amazing Destructive Power of Tradition
Tradition and culture are revered around the world. We create traditions then we carry them through over the years blindly. If our traditions last lon
20). Is Depression Always a Medical Problem – Another View
Advertisements for anti-depression drugs are constantly smattered across the tube today. They are accompanied with the possible advantages of taking one drug or another to relieve this common malady. By law such ads are followed with a list of contraindications (possible side effects) some which sound much worse than the depression itself.
Along with these ads is a little noticed disclaimer or shall we refer to it as a simple honest statement about depression.
21). Harvard Professors and TV Producers – Do They really Know Much About the Second Coming of Christ
In a world bent on acquiring ever more knowledge being referred to as being intelligent has supplanted the idea of a moral and decent life. I attended a funeral where the deceased was known for having been a cranky, ungodly, unloving man throughout his entire life. I thank God I wasn’t asked to give the eulogy. The person that had to deliver the eulogy was hard put to find a decent word to say about the deceased.
22). Can Americans Distinguish Between Fantasy and Reality?
Reality shows are everywhere but are they real? Are these contrived and staged situations really connected to reality? It would seem that they are flo
23). Do People See Visions Anymore?
In the information age with hi-tech devices from computers to GPS tracking is it reasonable to believe that human beings can still experience a vision
24). Why Muslims Are Losing Ground
The Islamic religion may not be doing demographic analysis on the subject of new converts, but it takes no wizardry to see that outside of a few Arab
25). Writing for Online Article Sites – Horrors and Blessings
Each ezine article database has its own terms of service (tos). They are generally uniform and mostly based on common sense. Most of them want well written articles that have had spell checking. They allow only so much html within an article and they don’t want hate material and a short list of other things that most readers don’t want to see either.
26). Something All Americans Can Give to Victims and Heroes of 9/11
What Americans can give to the victims and heroes of 9/11 is not all that different than what they gave after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. The nature of the offense to America is so radically different than it was on those who perished at Pearl Harbor that it requires a great deal more careful thought and discernment. The enemy that caused the events of 9/11 is positioned throughout the world and in the most cowardly way remains largely in hiding.
27). 7 Words Americans Should Stop Using Until Further Investigat
Americans repeat certain words with mindless ease without once regarding their definitions, their real meanings or their connotative meanings. Their

Newspapers are a largely un-tapped field of publicity for new authors. As with anything else there are many pitfalls and ways to waste your effort. He
