1). Telling a Child They Have ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder)
He was told during a private father and son discussion, away from distractions.
As parents we’ve reinforced to him that he doesn’t have a disability, just a different way of processing information and viewing life. He exhibits minor smatterings of this disorder and medically, he’s totally fit and healthy and has never been on medication (though this had been suggested).
2). Simple Ways to Have Happy Experiences
Happiness is a ‘now you feel it, now you don’t’ emotion. I know this from personal experience and from hearing of the experiences of others. Sometimes I’m very happy, other times, sad, joyful, contented, frustrated, and sometimes very neutral.
Several years ago I had no reference point for the word happy. I knew technically the meaning of the word, however the experience eluded me.
3). 5 Simple Ways to Kick Start Your Goal-Setting
There are five important, yet simple steps to follow, which I believe are necessary for seemingly impossible goals to be achieved.
Step Number One
Spend some quiet time and write down exactly what the change or changes will be and why you want them, this is the first crucial step towards achieving goals. At this stage, write only what it is you’d like to achieve and why.
4). My Fear of Heights and a Hot Air Balloon
Hot air ballooning is a different kettle of fish. Now I know hot air balloons fly (sort of) however there are no in-flight rations, flight attendants, movies, headsets, or pressurized cabins. There is just a big balloon (also called an envelope – I paid attention during the pre-flight briefing), a basket, a gas burner and a group of excited people. To me this was not flying, more like drifting and floating randomly above the earth.
5). 5 Easy Ways to Lift the Spirit
What to do?
Luckily for me there’s always been that curiosity of what’s out there in the alternative world including the alternative therapies. I’ve tried many of them over the years and will continue to do so, all in the hope I can make things better for my body, mind and spirit. And it has.
I’m aware that what may work for me may not work for someone else, so the message is to keep trying until you find something that will suit your needs.
6). Dare to Achieve and Discover a Daring New You
I'm doing things differently in the New Year! For a start, I’m not going to undertake a million and one things with deadlines impossible to keep (though I suspect my interest in new projects will get the better of me). Many amazing and interesting things in this world grab my attention, making it easy for me to get sidetracked.
My intention for the New Year is to transcend all previous successes and achieve things previously not considered.
7). Healing, Your Child and Flower Essences
So far there’s never been a time where I haven’t had great results whilst taking these essences. They’re not conventional medicine; rather their healing qualities are vibrational and work on the mind, body, and spirit concept.
With their unique vibrational qualities, flower essences have been used throughout the ages by many cultures for health and healing.
8). Some True Blue Aussie Christmas Traditions
Christmas would have to be my favorite time of the year.
I remember my white Christmases in Europe as a little girl. There was the smell of cinnamon, nutmeg and gingerbread biscuits, and my parents drinking eggnog as we decorated our tree.
Snow glistened outside and groups of children with their lanterns alight could be heard singing Christmas Carols as they moved from house to house in exchange for chocolates and sweets that residents would throw out their window.
9). Become Comfortable with the Uncomfortable
The physical pain I experienced during the writing of my first newsletter, or when I first designed and wrote copy for my website, and anything else that was and is a ‘first time event’ for me, is very real and very uncomfortable.
The upside of this is once the new is mastered, the physical pain miraculously disappeared.
For me it’s a comfort zone thing.
10). How to Zone Out in the Dental Chair
And so the therapy began.
My next appointment was the following week for more root canal and the week after that also. Not only that my newly filled tooth was now even more painful than before so more work on my filling ensued (as well as more root canal). To cut a long story short I then chose to have a crown in place of a filling that may, or not, have lasted very long.
