His experience has resulted in this self-help guide to people looking for ways to manage their condition in a proactive and healthy manor.
2). Hoot - Children/Youth Book Review
Hoot is a story about a fun adventure that has a small group of young people making positive choices. The setting for this mystery-fiction tale takes place in the state of Florida, USA. The main character, Roy, has moved regularly with his family and he is used to being the new kid in schools and neighborhoods. His previous experience helps him make new friends and ward off a big bully who singles him by stalking and harassing Roy.
3). Vehicle Emissions
All over the world people are experiencing air quality changes due to vehicle emissions. Particularly in the peak of summer, cities have worsening air quality to the point where it has become “normal” to hear air quality warnings. In Pakistan, vehicle emissions are responsible for nearly 90% of their air pollution. That is no wonder when you consider that 500 mature trees are needed to combat the emissions for every 20,000 km driven.

Her book, Coping With Sorrow On The Loss Of Your Pet, has been in production for 20 years and has been embraced by humane societies, veterinary schools and pet cemeteries.
5). The Wrekening - Book Review
The Wrekening is the first book in the Ancient Mirrors Tales, followed by Dragon Queen (which will be released in March, 2007), Damselflies and Quondam. The first few pages are filled with interesting maps that were useful during my reading of the novel. The illustrations were really eye-catching, and I have to say, I was impressed with the quality of the cover – which is thick and strong.
6). Proof Evident - Book Review
Proof Evident is a newly released crime fiction novel by lawyer and controversial psychologist, John Dicke. The story line is based around a criminal case for Judge Avery Jackson who coldly murdered Sheriff Hardacre during his speech to 150 city officials. The problem is, Mr. Jackson has no memory of the event at all…
Jack Maine leaves the public service and starts up a private practice with the assistance of his talented wife while taking on this difficult and seemingly doomed case.
7). Canada's Waste Reduction Week (Oct 15-21) - Just A Place To Start...
Canada’s Waste Reduction Week (WRW) occurs around mid-October and is a good time to reflect on how we, as individuals, can participate in waste management. Because some people are so overwhelmed with Earth’s problems, they feel that their contributions have no real consequence in the end. For others, social barriers can be an issue. A lady we once knew confessed that she did not want to be seen buying used items or being concerned with power use.
8). Providence Pond - Book Review
Author, Beresford McLean brings a new novel to his fans, this one delves into a time when British culture dominates over those within Jamaica. Providence Pond’s 500 pages are divided into four parts; each involves four generations of the King family between 1880-1920. The book closes with an afterword that provides insight into some of the issues in Jamaica over the years.
9). The Sea of Trolls - Book Review
At only $8.99 (US) or $12.50 (Canadian) this 462-page epic fantasy adventure is an unbelievable bargain. The Sea of Trolls has won at least thirty literary awards including A Parents Choice Gold Award and Publishers Weekly’s Best Children’s Book. Author, Nancy Farmer has also been honored with the Newbery Honor three times!
The author’s unusual use of sounds, sense of touch and texture for descriptive scenes is a skill that has helped her stand out among her peers.
10). Despereaux
This excellent fiction fantasy if full of light fun, animals and moments that bring understanding to another’s feelings. The writing style the author employs creates a story that is perfect for orating and literacy groups of young readers.
This animal adventure story about an adorable, abnormally small young mouse with very large ears shows readers what it is like to be ostracized by his own kind.
11). My Alien Penfriend - Book Review/Children's
My Alien Penfriend by Faiz Kermani is a fun and unique science fiction fantasy book about a young boy on earth and his pen-pal on another planet. After joining a youth group that connects people across the universe, the boys write letters to each other and send them through spacemail, a futuristic version of email. These letters are used for a majority of the story telling technique employed by Mr.

15). A Place Called the Bla-Bla Café - Book Review
A Place Called the Bla-Bla Café is a non-fiction book that will especially appeal to musicians and entertainers. This 237 page volume was self-published and written by Sandy Ross, one of the main entertainment coordinators for the Bla-Bla Café during the 11 years it provided a home and a welcoming family to the up-and-coming unsigned and undiscovered entertainers of the day.
16). Laguna – Book Review
The first thing that stood out for me about Michael Putegnat’s novel, Laguna, was the author’s excellent writing skills. He has the ability to create a vision in the readers mind and employs a clever use of humor. Attractive hooks at the ending of most chapters kept me unable to resist reading at least the first paragraph or two of the next one.
Laguna opens with Octavio Paredes, the missing fisherman, and his wife Anajita.
17). Envy of the Gods - Book Review
Envy of the Gods, a science-fiction novel, has a cast of five main characters that struggle through a rise to leadership, tough ethical decisions, the re-discovery and use of ancient textbooks, and a society that strives for a better, more efficient way of life.
In a ruthless and brutal age, much like our age of barbarian kingdoms, the novel takes the reader through immense social and governmental changes.
18). Simply Green Giving - Book Review

Released in Spring of 2005, The Echoes of a Whisper – by Rhona F. Pienaar, is a 68-page book of approximately 51 poems.
Rhona is clearly a caring woman who writes about her roles in the family, as mother, wife and daughter. She shares her goals in life and her hope to encourage her children to reach their potential by delving into their Selves and releasing their talents with courage.
20). Bearkiller - Book Review
D.J. Stephens has authored two fiction books to date, and though I have only reviewed Bearkiller so far, I am certain that readers will see the author’s name on their bookstore shelves beside novels like She Who Remembers, Antelope, and Follow The River.
In only 232 pages, Mr. Stephens combines elements of reincarnation and time travel with action, adventures and romance.
