1). Christmas Television Specials – Do They Really Know the True Meaning of Christmas? By : Rev. Michael Bresciani
Some sects of the church do not observe Christmas at all. Probably the most well know modern church that refuses to celebrate this holiday is the Jehovah Witnesses. It may surprise many people to learn that most of the Puritans of the Massachusetts Bay Colony also banned this holiday. If approached without bias, an honest study of the origins of this holiday might not cancel all your Christmases but you would be certain of one thing, it is a man made mandate and nothing less.

3). Gay Cowboys – And Other Hollywood Philosophies By : Rev. Michael Bresciani
The whole country is talking about the film Brokeback Mountain and it has created no small stir. On a Sunday morning TV editorial Charles Osgood pointed out that Hollywood is not tying to put forth a gay liberal agenda but rather are interested only in the bottom line – money. Although not inferred, it sounded like capturing the minds of adults or poisoning the minds of our youth was merely an incidental that happened on the way to the bank.

4). Entertaining America – The Staggering Cost in Dollars and Lives By : Rev. Michael Bresciani
Movies are now produced at costs that rival the gross national product of some small nations. Media including TV, music, internet, games, and casual cell phone use cost as much as it would to feed nearly every person in Africa. But there is another cost that cannot be calculated in dollars.
It seems like a competition between film producers that has no top end.

5). Hollywood Celebrities and Pop Culture – The Rape of the Mind By : Rev. Michael Bresciani
Fame, fortune, and power stand at the top of the heap when it comes to what we call success. Most peculiar of these is fame. It seems the rule, which is rarely spoken out loud is, anyone who is very well known didn’t get that way because they did everything wrong. Oh really! Who hasn’t heard the names of some famous criminals like John Dillinger or Al Capone or John Wayne Gacy? Many of these criminals were even trusted and held hero status in the minds of some people.

8). Types of Actors By : smgenie
All humans are actors to some extent. This sounds Shakespearean
but it is very true. Many times we have done what we do not like
and many times we begin to like what we are doing. We represent
those very feelings on stage or before the camera in the form of
characters. The person's who enact those characters are actors.
The hero-actor in a play or a film is not always the protagonist
though usually he is so.

9). The Sign of Signs - Who is That Fool on the Corner with the Sign about the End of the World? By : Rev. Michael Bresciani
The Pope it is said condemned the use of the cross bow when it was first introduced. He apparently thought it could be the demise of the whole world because it was so deadly. When cannons were first invented some thought that marked the end of the world. Now we have a weapon that could bring an end to all life on the planet, the hydrogen bomb, and certainly there are people who still believe that it might yet bring about the end of civilization.

12). American Churches – Inspiring or Entertaining By : Rev. Michael Bresciani
I almost stopped first at a larger church only a block from away from the little church I visited. The large brick church had a parking lot fairly full of cars and several people were going in as I drove by. I can’t say what made me keep driving but only a block away was a little white church with two people sitting on the front steps. As I slowed down to look at the church the two people waved to me and smiled.

13). Adrien Brody – Zero to Hero By : James Shenton
One of the least typecast actors in Hollywood, Adrien Brody -- star of the new period biopic Hollywoodland -- has defied critics by choosing a wide range of roles on the basis that they “look like fun”. This approach has taken him from the most serious role imaginable, as a Polish Jew in Roman Polanski’s The Pianist, to portraying Jack Driscoll in Peter Jackson’s big budget adventure King Kong.

14). Price Flight - Californians Revitalizing Downtowns By : Jeanette Fisher
For decades, California has been known as a land of lots of cars and long commutes--commutes that turn freeways into endless parking lots. But with the price of gas heading above $3.00 a gallon, even Californians are beginning to look into the possibility of living closer to downtown areas.
The trend toward revitalizing downtown areas isn't new. Witness the rebirth of such downtowns as Detroit, Michigan, or Portland, Oregon. But Californians seemed to buck that trend, cont...

17). Celebrity Diet Scams - Dangerous Diet Secrets Revealed By : Robert Palmer
What is a celebrity diet and who follows them? The term “celebrity diet” is used to refer to any diet that is recommended by celebrities. There is no single, concrete diet that all celebrities use. To be completely honest, celebrity diets are simply low-carb/low calorie diets that are not the most viable way to a permanent, healthier lifestyle. One would be best advised to eat a balanced diet that ensures plenty of fruits, vegetables, and lean protein, as well as hearty, unprocessed grains and breads.

18). Mel Gibson.. Another Hollywood Cop Out By : Bill Thomas
Well, well, poor Mel Gibson. Went out to have a few drinks and winds up with his pretty face all over the news. Seems he made an a... of himself. Most of us have been there, and I can't condemn him for that. What does bother me is how he comes out afterwards pleading and begging for forgiveness about remarks he made while he was 'drunk'. Well, you know what they say, a person always speaks the truth when they're drinking, it's the original truth serum.

19). Tom Cruise, Paramount and Hollywood Power’s Shift, and now Hedge Funds By : Robert Palmer
Until the 1950’s, Hollywood was controlled by seven major motion picture studios. More importantly it was controlled by moguls, all of whom were men they of eastern European descent, who ruled the studio in the same way that the kings of their previous countries ruled the peasants. Creative control belonged to the mogul, while the money was always controlled by the New York bankers, the so-called “Suits”.

20). Something All Americans Can Give to Victims and Heroes of 9/11 By : Rev. Michael Bresciani
What Americans can give to the victims and heroes of 9/11 is not all that different than what they gave after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. The nature of the offense to America is so radically different than it was on those who perished at Pearl Harbor that it requires a great deal more careful thought and discernment. The enemy that caused the events of 9/11 is positioned throughout the world and in the most cowardly way remains largely in hiding.

23). Criminal Stars By : Derek Belay
Thievery is alive and well in Hollywood. The glamorization of crime invariably tickles the curiosity of the public. Criminals have been portrayed as exciting, daring and cunning tantamount to hero status. They are the risk takers who should not be completely judged upon their criminal expression but rather looked at as individuals with some merit. They are cast sympathetically as their relationships are examined and ultimately lend credence to the justification, in their minds, of the criminal choices they have made.
