  • 2). The History of Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer  By : Suie Roberts
Everyone knows Rudolf. He is Santa's leading reindeer on account of his red nose that lights Santa's way through the winter night sky every Christmas Eve. However, there is no mention of Rudolf in Clement Clarke Moore's classic poem ''Twas the Night Before Christmas (‘also known as 'A Visit From St Nicholas’) written in 1822. More clearly names all of Santa's reindeer – "Now Dasher! Now Dancer! Now Prancer and Vixen! On Comet! On Cupid! On Donner and Blitzen!" But Moore doesn't make any reference to Rudolf.

Snow glistened outside and groups of children with their lanterns alight could be heard singing Christmas Carols as they moved from house to house in exchange for chocolates and sweets that residents would throw out their window.

  • 14). The Christmas Robin  By : Suie Roberts
The humble robin is a traditional Christmas symbol in the UK, the colourful bird often depicted on our festive greetings cards and Christmas gift wrapping. We also use little robin decorations to trim our Christmas trees and our Christmas cakes or chocolate logs. It's hardly surprising that we cherish this pretty, cheerful little bird as part of our Christmas festivities because he is so colourful and most other birds have migrated to warmer climates.
