The year 2000 one-ounce Gold Dragon was the first coin to hit the production cap, followed by the year 2002 one-ounce Gold Horse.
The Perth Mint Lunar Series is based on the Chinese 12 year Lunar Calendar, which dates back to 2600 BC.
