When I began teaching straight out of college, I had much experience with children, but my degree was in political science. People used to ask me how my BA was useful in teaching nursery school, to which I often replied, “I do a lot of conflict resolution.” Since then I’ve received my Masters degree in Education, and my Political Science degree has been relegated to education for education’s sake, but conflict resolution remains a huge chunk of my professional life.

3). Meet the Twixters! By : Michael Grose
There is a new stage of development for parents to consider.
The stages of development are roughly the following: children move from infancy, to early childhood and onwards to middle childhood. These stages take roughly the first ten or so years of life. Our children then move into a long stage known as adolescence (with a number three sub-stages) that is a transition phase into adulthood.

4). Preventing Sibling Rivalry By : Karen Alonge
I'm at the kitchen table writing on my laptop while my ten year old son tackles and pins the six year old neighbor girl in the living room. It's a wrestling match. When the kitchen timer rings, the next round will be my seven year old daughter against the eleven year old neighbor boy. Sometimes they do tag team.
To the casual observer I may look negligent, but I'm actually quite conscious of every move.
