3). Types of Tequila By : Melissa Blanco
There are two basic types of tequila - 100% blue agave tequila and mixto. The 100% blue agave tequilas are distilled entirely from the fermented juice of the agave. 100% agave tequilas are required to be distilled and bottled in Mexico. If your bottle of Tequila is not clearly marked as 100% blue agave, the tequila is mixto and may have been distilled from as little as 60% agave juice with other sugars.

4). How is Tequila Made? By : Melissa Blanco
Tequila is a distilled spirit that is produced only in Mexico, and only then in the region of Tequila. Juice from the heart of the agave plant is fermented and distilled twice to make tequila. The production of Tequila has to be in compliance with stringent regulations put forth by the Mexican government.
To make tequila, you need to start with ripe blue agave plants that take eight to ten years to mature.
